Calibration fails - PINDA triggers 5.5 cm above bed
Hi everybody,
I have a problem with my PINDA probe which seems to trigger about ~ 5.5 cm above the bed. (see http://misc.twam.info/images/prusa3d.com/prusa_i3_mk3_pinda_offset.mov ). This results in a failing Calibration and thus printing is impossible.
Yesterday the printer was printing fine and I problem appear today after running a first layer calibration. I updated to Firmware 3.3.1 a few days ago. Any help/suggestion is appreciated.
Best regards
Tobias

Your Pinda is faulty or its wire has a break in it. Try wiggling the cable bundle when it is at the spot where it triggers. Either you will need to replace it or in the case of the wire break trace and repair if you wish. Good luck!

Hi Olef,
I tried already wiggling the cable, but it doesn't make any difference. Also the spot it trigger faulty is quite 'constant'. If I switch off the printer, move the print head, switch on again und restarting calibration it ends up in the same position.
Unfortunately spare PINDAs seem to be out-of-stock in the Prusa shop. 🙁
Best regards

Chat with support. They may be able to rob one from production for you as your printer is out of action. Worth asking the question!
