Cable length for motors and PSU
Hey guys,
I'm planning to build an enclosure and for that reason I need to know the cable length for all motors and the PSU.
1) Extruder cable length?
2) X-axis?
3) Y-Axis?
4) both Z-axis? left and right
5) Heatbed cable
6) Hotend cable
7) Pinda Probe cable
8) PSU cables
9) Thermistor
10) MMU 2.0 cable length
Perhabs somebody can help me out... 🙂
I think it could be interesting for some others, too.
Greetings
Re: Cable length for motors and PSU
You can always just extend the cables. The PSU ones are the easiest. Just replace the existing PSU cables with longer ones in a larger gauge.
For all the cabling on the printer it might be best to place a junction box where the Einsy box currently is. Lead the existing cabling back to there. From that point extend with high gauge wires to the new location of the Einsy board.
You might need to up the gauge on the hot heater cartridge cables at a point close to the cartridge. You may also need to replace the heatbed heater wires with a higher gauge.
Thermistors and fans can just be extended.
Not sure about the motors you could probably get by with extensions.
The LCD ribbon cables are a problem. They will have to be replaced if you want to go longer. Probably with a shielded cable of a higher gauge.
