Burnt out extruder heater

I burned out my extruder heater. Had a brand new V6 unit, so fitted according to instructions. Still no heating! Checked the 3 fuses, all OK.  Checked all push in connectors. - Nothing?

Anyone offer any suggestions please. Can I meter out the heater and thermister cables to search for the problem?

Or have I somehow damaged something on the control board?

Most grateful for any suggestions.

Please clarify:

Does the printer  entirely fail to start?

Or does it start but fail to heat?

Cheerio,

Heater extruder.

Everything including the platen heat works OK until I try to heat the new extruder and it remains ambient. The sensor flicks a couple of degrees so is probably OK, but no heat to the extruder cartridge.

Double check the hotend fuse, the upper 5A nearest the hotend socket.

Check the hotend socket itself, repeated plugging might have broken a connection...

I don't have the correct value to hand but the heater should show a low resistance to a multimeter, not zero.

Cheerio,

Thanks!  I will check everything over once more and then meter the terminals.

Thanks Diem.  Turned out it was a bad contact on the fuse socket. Cleaned with contact cleaner and IPA. all working.

Obliged for your assistance.
