Build Plate Question

Hello everyone, having used my Mk3 for the 7 months that i have had it has produced a consistently perfect botom layer with the standard spring steel pei flex build plate. Its absolutely amazing but i after these 7 months i have put alot of wear and tear on that build plate. my issue is that i have managed to put small little dings and dents in both sides of the plate. i dont remember how they got there but i wasnt to know if its possible to either order a new build plate or if/ how to fix the dents

Re: Build Plate Question

You can order a new plate from Prusa - just make sure you are logged in, look for the Mk3, then parts. It took me a while to find it, but it's there.

and textured

As for "repairs" ... the scars I've incurred have tended to self heal over time - and running higher temps for a while seems to help them fade. Like 100c for PET; but then PET adhesion has caused its on issues like delamination (but it seems to heal over time). Surface scratches where the nozzle got too close and scribed a line will take wet sanding. And I have a couple sharp dents and I'm thinking they are permanent.

Re: Build Plate Question

The Powder coated will be a bit of a wait. It is not available for sale alone yet.

Re: Build Plate Question

You can remove the pei stickers and replace them BUT it's not easy. And if you factor in your time and solvents and paper towels and mess, it's probably not worth the effort!

I put a strip of 10mm kapton tape along the purge strip to reduce wear and tear on that area to prolong the life of the surface

The tape can be replaced if it is damaged...

Re: Build Plate Question

If cost is an issue, I have found blue tape to be very cost effective as a build surface,
