Broken PINDA Mount

So last night I was printing a pretty wide print. I was printing with petg at about 250 Celsius nozzle temp and 95 Celsius bed temp. I got a crash detection error because of some petg boogers and saw this. I suspect it was printing too hot and just snapped when it hit a booger. I have ordered mk3 to mk3s upgrade kit. However, I bought the self printed parts option to save a few bucks. Is there any way that I can repair this to print the parts, or even just print without the PINDA altogether?

RE: Broken PINDA Mount

If you are having issues with a MK3, be advised many people are having much worse problems with the MK3S.   On the MK3S, the part cooling fan is higher and doesn't provide much cooling to the extruder plastic, and may even make it worse by blowing directly on the heater block rather than directing air below the nozzle.  There are several home brew redesigns that claim to help MK3S extruder meltdown... ymmv.

As for PINDA-less printing? Not really.  Printer has to find where ground zero is and it uses the PINDA for that.  Take out your PETG capable filament pen and "weld" the bracket back on to the extruder; or use two part super glue if the parts fit well.

Assuming you don't have a pen to weld it.  It's made of PETG so you can't weld it with an ABS slurry or putting it in a acetone chamber.  Judicious use of super glue and careful pressure as it sets should get you to a point where you can print a replacement.  Don't get crazy on the PINDA calibration when you tighten the bolt as it's a one and done. Snug will be good enough and not compromise the repair.
