@Bobstro Print,Printer,Filament Profiles on a Macbook Pro

i am trying out SuperSlicer and i would like to import @bobstro settings BUT i am unable to import them as either just Config or Config Bundle.

what i do i copy @bobstro's profile settings from his website and save it, and realizing that is saved as a .txt file, i do change the extension to .ini but this does not do anything for me to be able to import it.

i am working on a Macbook Pro at the moment and i do not know if it has to do anything with the Mac environment compared to a Window system which i am usually familiar with.

thanks in advance.

Can you provide a link to the profile you are trying to upload?

thank you very much. would also very much appreciate it if you can help me figure out how to make a config bundle out of @bobstro's profiles.

On a windows machine you would download them.  Rename to a .ini file and then use the File>Import>Import Config Bundle option.  That should then result in something like "46 presets successfully imported" for the filament bundle for example.

As that does work on a Windows OS then I can only think its something MAC dependent that is causing a problem.

They should be downloaded with the .ini extension and imported as config bundles. I do this frequently on my iMac, now running Monterey.

Do take a look at the file content to make sure it hasn't been converted to HTML or some other problem. The download button on pastebin should do it correctly.

Unfortunately, there may be some incompatibilities in file format with SuperSlicer. That's one of the reason I quit using it myself. I wouldn't expect that to be a problem with all 3 profile types though.

i think i may have figured it out. Mac is not making a straightforward change of extension from .txt to .ini

i can't pull them as config bundle, ive always pulled them only as Config. so as an example, i import your print profiles as a config bundle and it should  populate the print,filament and printer profiles with your profiles? or do i import them separately?

Also there seems to be compatibility issue when i use your printer profile. it gives me a mismatch error on the printer lcd. i think i may have figured this out early last year when i was discussing this with you via pm, but i cannot recall how i fixed it.

thanks for chiming in. happy new year

Importing as a config just imports a single profile, so shouldn’t be used. That’s why you need to Import as a bundle.  One import bundle for each type.   I missed the super slicer bit in the original post though. As I use SuSi a lot I’ll try later. I know Merrill has recently added an import fro. Prusa slicer function to try and import ps profiles while minimising issues but I haven’t tried it as I have my own SuSi profiles anyway.
