Blob of change all parts or not

Hi there,

Last night I got the following blob after a bed adhesion fail followed by about 3.5h (estimated) of continued extrusion.

Not sure if this shows, but a few of the plastic parts got cracked and after trying to clear this something may have caught on fire, or just filament burning.
I also received the MAX TEMP warning and since the cables are covered with plastic it may be that they are damaged.

Is there worth my time to try and clear this mess, or is ordering a replacement extruder the better choice?

Cheers
Niklas

Wow - that's impressive.

At first impression, a new V6 kit may be worth the price of admission. The actual Prusa parts (plastic shell) is probably salvageable; as are the metal parts like nozzle and heater block. But I'd have low hopes of cleaning the melt off the heater and thermistor cables: the tugging and pulling and hammering to get the melt off will probably damage them.

I'd order new heater and thermistor from Prusa to get the right lengths and connectors. But if you are skilled in wiring, you could order new parts locally and get them a bit cheaper and faster.
