beneficial to re-calibrate after upgrade to 3.9.3?

In the release notes it says

The previous “whole-pixel” search was providing an accuracy of about 0.6 mm. Now, it is less than 0.1 mm thanks to the sub-pixel analysis.

But it also says

Performing this new XYZ calibration on a calibrated printer is not necessary unless you are experiencing issues with your prints.

I would have guessed you should still benefit from the higher accuracy? Or does not not matter as it is relative not absolut accuracy we are concerned about so once calibrated, higher accuracy does not help you anymore?

And one more question: if you re-calibrate, do you need to re-adjust live-z-adjust?

If you are having concerns or issues, I would recalibrate.

They say you don’t need to do it, so of course I did 😝. As expected I don’t see any difference. And yes, I felt I had to redo live z.

I don't and was just wondering whether there are benefits even in that case... 😋

@zg

I don't think it is always needed or beneficial.  I do think it is always beneficial if you do any assembly or disassembly.

I update my i3-MK3s with last firmware 3.9.3- 3556

When I try to activate Fil. sensor in setting I receive ERROR: Filament sensor is not responding , please check connection

One s could saycheck wiring but befofe I went to sensor state and trigged IR from 0 to 1 indicate that signal is there

Anybody experienced this and could it be a firmware issue

My policy with regard to firmware updates after nearly 40 years of working with computer equipment is "if it ain't broke don't fix it".  My MK3S+ was delivered with v3.9.2 of the firmware, and after assembly, my XYZ calibration said the geometry was perpendicular (the best of the three possibilities).  Of course, the very next day v3.9.3 was released, promising an even more accurate XYZ cal.  My prints have been coming out fantastic so at this point at least I'm hesitant to upgrade and recalibrate, as whatever marginal improvement I might get from that recalibration could well be negated by some unknown new issue the firmware might pose.  If you're happy with the print quality you're getting I'd suggest holding off until a future firmware release that perhaps offers more of an incentive to upgrade than merely having the latest version installed.  Just my $.02.
