Bed temps vary from side to side

Just like almost everyone else, love the printer. Been going great for years (since 2018). Done upgrades as needed.

All of a sudden the left side of my prints would lift off the bed and start warping real bad. I always noticed it seemed the left side always was the first to go. Cleaning, scuffing, glue, or brims, same thing. Even small things would start to curl up on the left side of the bed.

I went and purchased one of those laser temp thermometers.

Bed temp is headed to what it believes is 60 degrees Celsius. I check the middle of the left side of the bed and I get a consistent reading of 55. I check the middle of the right half of the bed and get a reading of 67.

This explains why my parts always warped on the left side so bad.

Now, the question would be why? I have checked the connections on the board and they seem tight. I have checked the connections on the bed and it seemed tight and clean.

What else could it possibly be?

TIA

Have you checked none of your bed screws are loose/sitting proud, also check no foreign objects between the metal sheet and bed.

Make sure metal sheet is sitting flat against heat bed with no gaps ismonly thing I can think, other than something up with the heated bed.

Also run PID calibration see if it helps

Tank you very much!

@clarmrrsn

Thank you for the ideas. This is a MK2s so, I don't have the additional metal sheet. It is just a bed with a PEI sheet.

However, I did go through and check the bolts and connections. All are tight and snug. Nothing looks wrong with any of the cables.

Apologies then, I don't really know the MK2 so can't offer much advice.

I gather you are measuring the heat on the heated surface itself not the print surface?

If the heat is inconsistent across the heat bed then has to be the bed itself.

If the bed is warped then could be making contact with the print surface more in some areas than others causing inconsistent heat.

That's the only thing that springs to mind.
