bare thermister wires from factory?

Ive attached a pic of what im referring to. it didnt even occur to me that it could be a possible issues until i cleaned my nozzle with a brash brush and it sparked. are the thermister wires supposed to be exposed like that from the factory? is there a chance there might be damage to my hotend due to the spark? any knowledge on this issue would be appreciated! Thanks in advance.

That’s your heater cartridge not the thermistor.  That’s normal. You aren’t supposed to clean around those with a wire brush and it’s possible you may have damaged something but if it still heats then you should be ok.
Don’t do that again and get yourself some silicone socks. They stop the hot end getting so dirty in the first place.

I looks for silicone sock with no luck. Would you mind linking me? Also... I was cleaning the nozel and a bristle touch the bare wire by accident. I thought that's what the service manual said to use... Stupid abs...

The prusa hotend is made by e3d and is a type v6. While there are several copies of v6 parts and accessories on all the usual sites like eBay or amazon I try and buy the original parts.

although amazon at least does tend to stock proper e3d parts too and depending on where you are located you might find somewhere local to get them.

I think they should come as standard, they are so very useful.  Not just from keeping the hot end clean but also providing better thermal regulation and potential temperature drop issues when the parts fan kicks in.  I don't run a printer without them.
