Auto Load

I have worked with tech support online and have yet fixed my issue, I have tried just about everything to get my autoload to work, It is selected in the menu, cutting the filament at 45/,you name it and I probably have tried it. One thing I don't understand is that when I print a 2 color print and when it is time to change colors it alerts me to unload & reload the second color and it will autoload the second color without a issue. I have tried what others have done by shimming the sensor with no luck. I have torn apart the head several times and everything looks good. Does anyone else have any other ideas I can try. PS, It has worked great for two years until lately. Forgot to mention the machine is a MK3s

   Thank you in advance

Many greetings

RE: Auto Load

This is probably the solution to your problem.

Print this out and place it under the ir sensor.

RE: Auto Load

My expericence is, that the filament guide containing the steel ball wears out after a couple of hundret print days. That way the printer does not recognize the filament placement properly since the movement of the ball is not far enough any longer.

What puzzles me a little bit is the decription, that you only get this when loading filament. In my case(s) I also got random filament errors during printing .... But it is worth a check. It can be replaced quite easyily from the top. You only have to be careful when inserting the part so that you don't break the lever. But it can be moved out of the way with a small screw driver through the sensor hole.

You need to print this part:

The model can be found here:

https://www.printables.com/de/model/61346-i3-mk3s-to-mk3s-upgrade-printable-parts/files

Best print it in black PETG.
Maybe that helps.

RE: Auto Load

Thanks MJ

I will try that and will post back if it worked, It is odd that it has no issues unloading but has issues loading, I did take that part out and it looked ok but it is worth a try.

I thought for sure this would of been a common problem and a easy fix.
