Are i3 MK2 Stepper Motors Compatible with the i3 MK3?
I have some stepper motors I removed from my MMU 1.0 and I was wondering if they could be used on my i3 MK3, which I know switched to a 24V power supply. I am just not knowledgeable enough with stepper motors to know if I could use one of the MMU 1.0 steppers as a replacement if something happens to the steppers that came with my i3 MK3 printer.

Can't say for sure as I don't have an MMU of any type, but thay are most likely the same stepper motor with a different screen print on the end. If you look at the printer spares available the motors are listed as being for MK3, MK2.5 and MK2s so voltage isn't a problem.Your MMU motors may have a different shaft but those can be changed. Cable lengths might be your only real problem if they aren't long enough.

Thanks for the info. Apparently I missed that info in the shop.
Thanks!

The upgrade MMU1 => MMU2 use the same stepper motors.
So there is a shaft to the pulley motor in the MMU2.
And they add a selector motor with a archimede-screw to move the selector-Finda part.
And all is working well.
