All settings being equal why is my MK3S slower than my MK2.5?!?

I am so confused.

I have compared all the speeds, Extrusion widths, layers, perimeters, infill density and pattern.

Everything is equal but when I slice and print the model on my MK2.5S the print time is 4hr 48 min

when I slice and print the model on the MK3S the print time is 5hr 1min.

The differences are spread over the whole print as seen in the snap shots of my break downs

2 minutes extra here, 3 minutes there, 7 minutes for internal infill.

I thought the MK3 was faster so so I am really interested in figuring this out.

Without the 2 saved project files (one saved with your mk2 and the other saved with your mk3 selected) its impossible to say.  With project files we can examine every setting.

However the settings you listed are not the only ones that control speed.  Theres a bunch of printer settings like accel etc that can influence.  Things like retract amount and z hop height can also make a big difference.  So unless every setting on the 2 printer profiles are also identical (which they wont be) then 'all settings being equal' just isnt true.

I have confirmed acceleration but I will go through all the settings more carefully as I don't ever recall seeing the Z hop height. Thank you!
