all axis lenght errors after firmware upgrade
today I was doing some maintenance to my MK3S (belt tensioning cleaning etc)
I printed a test... everything was fine.
Then I installed a firmware upgrade via PrusaSlicer: at the reboot, the wizard failed checking the X-axis, saying that there was a x axis lenght error: the carriage move to the extreme left, then move towards the right but stop around midway, then back and it blocks, giving the error.
I checked for blockages, stick&slip effects, cables interfering with the frame... nothing. Then I moved by hand the carriage to the extreme right, and restarted the calibration: this time, it goes towards the left, but it doesn't reache the end.. it stops somewhere halfway... so it does not seems that it is a physical interference, because it happens in every position, after a span that is not the complete span of the carriage.
Then I checked by moving the axis through the "move Axis" menu, and I discovered that ALL THE AXES moves only by a range that is roughly half the span: the LCD goes from 0 to 255mm, but the carriage moves only by 125mm
the Yaxis says form -4 to 212mm, but in reality it moves by 110mm only
the Z axis says from 0 to 220, but it moves by 110mm only
therefore it is not a problem of belt tension, or of cable interference etc.
I tried to revert to previous firmwares, but the problem remains, and it is impossible to print
Again, everything happened AFTER a firmware upgrade
any idea?
thanks
