X Y ringing
I’ve just built an i3 mk3 kit, successfully printed various objects, but can notice some (slight) ringing on a 20mm test cube on the x and y faces ... what things do people think I should look for to reduce this effect ? (More pronounced on the face parallel with the direction the main carriage goes back and forth- front to back))

I still have the roll of filament mounted on the top, as in the asseembly instructions. Would removing that and putting it on the table top, on low friction bearings reduce these effects, by reducing mass on the top ...?
My belt tensions report as being -
Belt stays x 287, y 286.

Your belts should be 240 +/- 40. Being that you're over 280 that means your belts are too loose. Tighten them and then test it again.
Make sure you run a new self test after you tighten them so your values update.
