X-Axis losing Location

I have had my printer for over six months and it has been running great for most of it. Had a print issue and once it was all cleaned up, the printer thought X = 0.0 was all the way at the right.

I disabled the steppers to allow me to move the extruder back to the left and then I recalibrated XYZ.

After calibration I checked the belt tension and the X was down at 157. I adjusted the belt and all seemed good.

I started another print and about halfway through, the X-axis lost its location again and went all the way to the right and started trying to print off of the bed.

Has anyone had this issue before?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

RE: X-Axis losing Location

Have you checked if the pulley is secured on the x-stepper motor and the carriage can move freely on the x-axis when the power is off.

Have a look at my models on Printables.com 😉

RE: X-Axis losing Location

MK3 finds the zero X position by running the extruder right to left until it stalls (hit left side) . The stall is detected and end of axis set. If somehow the extruder gets a motor stall before reaching far left, it will be set as X zero.

If it's not a mechanical issue, the wires or plugs could have a loose connection.
