Re: Would you like a USA parts distributor for PRUSA parts?
If they could be at the same price as the Prusa store but with cheaper or free shipping then yes.
Re: Would you like a USA parts distributor for PRUSA parts?
Sure if they ran it like E3D does their storefront on Amazon... but I wonder if the need is there for having inventory in the USA for stuff other than their PrusaMelt. (and I assume a branded resin for their new resin printer) if I had an out of warranty power supply fail I would be much more likely to buy a larger Meanwell brand than replace the OEM PS.... if it is about having a USA operation to support warranty claims then they should have a good handle on what parts and how many they need to support their USA market but I guess You could drop your printer and bend its frame out of warranty and need parts that are not a part of even one in 10,000 shipped like a Y carrier frame... but hat must be so rare that it would not pay to inventory theme in the states.... unless the object is to support folks that want to build a MK3 and want to print all of their own plastic parts and buy the rest from Prusa rather than china... a low number I would guess.
as you can see its not a simple Biz decision
Looks like they plan to sell their PrusaMelt via US amazon this fall so perhaps they will test the waters that way.
Re: Would you like a USA parts distributor for PRUSA parts?
Yes.
When someone asks you if you're a god, you say, "YES!"
Re: Would you like a USA parts distributor for PRUSA parts?
I would be happy with a official amazon store. Due to the shipping cost from CR I get everything i can from there, but a Prusa store would make it easier to know I was buying the correct part.
Re: Would you like a USA parts distributor for PRUSA parts?
I would love this, even though im in canada, USA is closer than CZ.

Warranties notwithstanding, I think the determining factor would be the size of their North American market vs. their European market, and projected revenues. :geek:

Yup. I would like to see an official PRUSA distribiuter in the US.

I would think you could print your own. When you say parts distributor is that spare parts or something else? Is this PRUSA brand or another company just cloning to make a buck off of them?

Printed plastic parts, yes, but if you need anything else....

To quote an old Wendy's ad campaign, "Parts is parts". 😉
Since Prusa printers are open-source (software and hardware), clones--and selling clones/parts--are allowed, however I took the OP to mean some kind of official Prusa-affiliated entity (though I could be mistaken).

Re: Would you like a USA parts distributor for PRUSA parts?
Hey Rufas, I'm a old man also, but my wife is constantly telling me to grow up..... So my idea in life is why grow up when you're having so much fun!!??? I just wanted to clarify a few things on the post and what is being proposed. When I like something I will support the company that provided it. I have two MK3's and waiting on my MMU 2.0. Never should of canceled my order and do a "Wait and See" when they said they weren't shipping any more MMU 1.0 any longer. I think it was the "we won't say what's on our mind" that made me cancel my November order.
I bought a CR-10 S5, but I asked if PRUSA was going to build a larger platform first. I asked several times before I made my purchased.
If someone is going to start shipping parts in the US and I do live in Kalifornia then I will either print my own or buy from PRUSA if they are not part of PRUSA.

I keep hearing that from guys. My wife has never told me anything like that. If anything, she encourages me to stay young in heart/mind. We both have our toys/hobbies...
Sorry if there's been any misunderstanding/miscommunication. 😳

Re: Would you like a USA parts distributor for PRUSA parts?
Absolutely. Even better if they can do free shipping through Amazon. Are you thinking of setting one up?
Re: Would you like a USA parts distributor for PRUSA parts?
No but a UK one would be nice.
Re: Would you like a USA parts distributor for PRUSA parts?
YES! 😀
Re: Would you like a USA parts distributor for PRUSA parts?
Yes.
If Prusa had a US based distributor I would be able to use school equipment funds to purchase PRUSA printers. Since there are no US distributors I cannot purchase PRUSA for my classroom.
I would purchase several printers for our maker spaces.

You may be able to get around that by documenting that there are no US suppliers of these printers for you to purchase from so you have to order direct from the overseas manufacturer. I don't know if the rules your school district uses has allowances for that, but it can't hurt to ask.
I used to work on NSA and NASA grants for the Bartol Research Institute (at University of Delaware), and for spending that grant money I could order from an overseas manufacturer if there were no domestic suppliers. (We did this for some very expensive, small form factor vacuum pumps from a German manufacturer.)

An Amazon storefront with Amazon shipping the parts from one of their warehouses could be the easiest, and one of the most accepted by people, way of providing US based parts and machines.

Yes, but they are having trouble delivering enough of the items they sell to Amazon.
