Win7 install cant find printer driver

Finishing up new MK3 build (first time 3d'er). I download the Windows software from support page (2.1.8 is current version) and run install.
I download the latest firmware (3.3.1) and unzip the .hex file to temp folder.
Now I am supposed to run Slicer to perform a firmware update. I hook up the usb cable from laptop to printer (printer is turned off). When I do this I see the little popup in bottom right of screen saying that Windows is looking for the device driver. Ultimately it will not find the driver. I have two Lenovo model laptops and get the same response. If I go to device manager I see Prusa i3 MK3 under the Other section, not under Ports where I think it is supposed to be. If I click on this device it shows that the driver not installed.

Rather frustrating is that in all the documentation online and in print I don't see any mention of this issue. I emailed [email protected] but have not gotten a response (surprise surprise).

Anyone experience this or have any ideas how to proceed? I have tried reinstalling the Windows app and having the printer turned on, tried having the usb already plugged in before installing app, tried running slicer as admin. Cant seem to get by this Windows not being able to find the printer driver.

Thanks,
MJB

Re: Win7 install cant find printer driver - ANSWERED

Received the following response from support:
can you please try to initiate install just of the drivers. After installing the app & drivers package you've downloaded from our website you should be able to find in your PC this path C:\Program Files\Prusa3D\Rambo\dpinstx64.exe
Install the dpinstx64.exe, if there will be any errors during the installation please do a screenshot and send it back in your reply, also include screen of the device manager when it shows the printer as Other device.
My response after doing the above:
It worked!
For some reason the driver exe was not being run automatically. After manually running dpinstx64.exe Win7 displayed message Ready to Use, however I still could not see the Prusa device in "Devices" (in Other or in Ports) or in "Devices and Printers" and Slicer would not connect to printer. After rebooting my laptop I can now see "Original Prusa i3 MK3" in Ports and in Printers. I ran Splicer and firmware updated.
