  1. How did this happen you may ask? Well I was trying to print some PLA parts on my powder coated heatbed. The issue? The print detached from the bed in the middle of the night and one of the parts got stuck on the hotend. Rather than jamming right away, which I wish it would of done, it continued to push filament out. Which then doubled back up through the e3d sock and out the top creating the massive blob you can see below. I did try and remove it by heating the hotend up but did not realize the blob had engulfed the wires for the heating cartridge and thermistor. I ended up tearing one of the wires to the heating cartridge rendering the hotend useless and covered in plastic, I have no tools in my dorm to deal with such an issue like this so I opted to just cut the wires and order a whole new V6 hotend. I'm probably not going to bother trying clean the hotend later on, I'm oing to use it as a paper weight because it does look kinda cool.

You can unscrew the silver (I don't know what you call it) and use it again...I think. Ask how I know. Yours is kind of artsy...mine was just a big blob on the end that went all the way up to the little deflector by the motor. See image...the silver thing on the left...the blob to the deflector on the right. 😭

I wonder how the extruder was able to keep pushing the PLA out? It seems like there would have been a lot of pressure and stop the new material from extruding.???
