Forgot something, after cleaning with dish soap, you can clean with alcohol, but use a lot of alcohol.

If a lot of  sticking is needed, only clean with dish soap.

After cleaning with dish soap, always use the sheet on a hot bed, the sheets can get corrosion.

As can you bed if you not dry it enough.

RE: Textured Sheet

I have used both alcohol, and washed with dish soap then alcohol and still not sticking.  Will try to go lower and see what happens, but getting tired of cleaning all the gobs of filament from around nozzle.

Actually when in lays it down in the priming area, it shows z at -0.080

How does your prime line look like compared to PLA/PEI?

Could you attach a photo of your PETG/Textured prime line?

I have not noticed any significant difference in the appearance of prime lines between PLA, ABS, PETg and PC Blend.

I am using the longer prime line ala the MMU2S start-up code.  This way it always has a good amount of prime before it starts the skirt/brim.

RE: Textured Sheet

Ok, got it to stick, so we are now at -0.660, but as you can see there are some areas that semi good and gaps in other areas.  Bottom right corner started out at -0.600 and was at about -0.675 about the half way mark, then from there till about 3/4 of the way started going up to -.0660 and then as it started to get faster, it started not leaving anything on sheet, and gathering again on the nozzle.

RE: Textured Sheet

Here's 3 different pictures. One picture went up to -750 at one point and the last 1/4 started getting wierd, next one went from -700 to -725 the last half, and the 3rd picture stayed at -0.725 but remember someone said to slow speed down to 70%, so I did that on 3rd picture at -0.725

You're closing in 👍
But I think you should go even lower.
You shouldn't have to slow down your first layer test, run it as is, no slowing down.
Are you sure the bed is clean, reeaallllyy clean?

And please upload "bigger" pictures, forum accepts really big pictures

RE: Told You So 😉

Nice 😀  Does it hold up when you peel it from the sheet?

Could you see individual filament lines when you look att it from the underside?
If "Yes", go a little bit lower, a few hundreds lower.
If "No", Perfect!

Could you post a closeup photo on the underside?

One last question, that calibration gcode that Jeff Jordan made up where it stays at 170 till after the bed leveling is done, how can I have that do the for every stl I run?

Well, I guess I celebrated a little to early. Ran an STL, barely laid down any primer, maybe half an inch, started to print, and started dragging some of the print with it, and gooped up around the nozzle again.  Man this just stinks.

RE: Textured Sheet Setup Problems

@buckeye-slicer

Sorry about that 😣

You know what to look for and how to get it right so keep going.
My guess is you should go down even more, filament needs to be really squished IN to the texture.
Measure the thickness of 75x75, that way you know the margin down to the plate

Regarding "two-step nozzle warm-up", here is a link to a in depth description:

edit: And the sheet should be CLEAN, no dirty fingerprints 👍

RE: Textured Sheet

I went from -0.750 to -0.875 and gave me a perfect square, perfect on backside and everything for calibration, so went to print a stl, and not wanting to stick to clean sheet. Why does it stick during calibration, but not normal printing. Some sticks, then some don’t, then it drags around and sticks to nozzle. When I ran another calibration test, raised nozzle up a bit, and did perfect again, but when I turned the square over to look at bottom side, it had the imprint of the stl that I tried to print. Also, the picture of the bed, is that look like it is digging in the bed.? Is that reason for the remnants of a too low nozzle?

** If you look at the backside of your print you clearly see filament lines, they should be almost gone that means your too high

**If you have different adhesion on different parts of bed it is not clean enough. Clean your sheet thoroughly with dish soap and rinse with LOTS of HOT water. Dry it with clean paper towel. Put it on heated bed, 10 minutes on each side to dry out the moisture.

** Don't worry. Your nozzle will start clicking and stops extruding before it touches the bed. A friend *cough* of mine forgot to change sheet profile from textured (-1,97) to smooth (-1,62) sheet, extruder starts clicking and couldn't extrude, no scratches on the bed. That's how I know....

This picture is from a part that came loose due to too high Z. Part is about 25mm wide.
