Textured finish of orange Prusa front panel

I am printing large project boxes (100x120x60) and would like to recreate a similar texture and strength as the orange housing for the LCD on my Prusa Original i3 MK3S.

I'm about to purchase the "Textured PEI Powder-coated Spring Steel Sheet" and some orange PETG.

Will that be a lot better than using PLA on the smooth sheet? Even though I enclosed the printer to keep ambient temp higher, I still had a lot of warping.

If PLA is warping, you may want to try increasing the bed temperature, try it in 5 degreeC steps.

The textured PEI sheet will give the same surface effect as the pre-printed parts from Prusa.

When printing PETG on the smooth build plate it is very recommended to wipe the surface with windows cleaner before each print to protect the build plate from damage when removing the part. On the textures build plate windows cleaner is not needed between PETG prints.

Have a look at my models on Printables.com 😉

I have encountered this when printing large boxes in either PETG or PLA. Bed temps don't seem to help. I finally put small "dimes" (or mouse ears) of single-layer discs in each corner and that's mostly cleared up the problem. Easy to do with modifiers.

I had severe problems of sticking PETG and PLA (several grades) to textured bed.
Very thin layer of adhesion agent and raised temeprature seem to help.
I've now sucessfully printed large and small models from Noctuo PLA HT, regular PLA, and Ultra PLA, PETG Medical also from Fiberlogy PA12, PA12CF15, ABS Plus, and various other filaments.
