Temperature adjustments for Olsson Ruby High Temp nozzle

I installed the Olsson ruby high-temperature nozzle on my MK3S printer.

The heat conductivity seems a little bit better than the brass nozzle. To prevent globs on the first layer, I had to reduce the nozzle temperature from 240 to 230ºC for the first layer with Prusament PETG. Everything else works as configured in the default PETG profile.

Is there a simple way, to configure this better conductivity - so if I print at 240ºC, this will take the better conductivity of the nozzle into account?

Or do I have to adjust the PETG profile?

For me, because this is something different of this printer, there should be a way to configure this in the printer profile? Is this possible?

You could do something in the filamemt custom gcode based on the printer type or notes. You need some way of identifying when the nozzle is mounted. A custom printer profile might work. It won't save you much time, though, as there's little gained from swapping a printer profile over a filament profile.

Just a suggestion in passing:
You can alternatively use this nozzle here:

tungsten carbide E3D V6, 0.4/0.6mm

You don't have to change the nozzle temperature, the nozzle is nearly abrasion free and also cheaper than the Olson ruby. Since I use the tungsten carbide, all my brass, steel, stainless steel, nickel-plated copper nozzles, the x-nozzle and the Olson ruby are in stock. Printing on all printers with the tc 0.4mm.

I ordered a tungsten carbide nozzle – didn't know these exist.

They have almost the same heat conductivity as the brass nozzle, so I think these are a really good replacement for brass nozzles.

I have been working with it for a long time and print all materials, PLA, PETG, ABS and also including Carbon PEEK and Nylon.
For me the tc nozzles were relatively expensive, because I live in Austria and therefore paid 71 Euro per piece (incl. shipping, customs and taxes), but it was worth it.
Unfortunately I did not find a producer in europe in this quality and I am not convinced of the Far East nozzles in terms of quality.

The thermal conduction properties of the tc alloy are similar to those of brass. Therefore I did not have to change anything in the temp settings.

Maybe you will report later on your experiences with the tc nozzle.

Currently, I am printing a larger part with the Olsson Ruby High Temp nozzle. And, despite I had to correct the temperature -10ºC for both the first layer and the rest, it looks very promising. Same print quality as with a new brass nozzle - a little bit less stringing as with the brass nozzle. 

I will test the nozzle as soon as possible. My goal is to keep the maintenance of the printer as low as possible. It is printing almost 24/7.

tungsten carbide is one of the hardest materials available and abrasion is very low. As long as you don't crash, the nozzle will do its job for many, many miles or km of filament extrusion.

+1 on that nozzle. It works way better than the hardened steel nozzle I used previous. It just works all the time.
