Suggestion: Auto preheat when loading/unloading filament
Hello,
Very new (and very impressed) with my first i3 MK3 that came this week. Great unboxing experience (assembled unit) and great prints! I started 3D printing a few months ago and have a FlashForge Creator Pro. When loading/unloading filament it automatically preheats. I don't think the Prusa i3 MK3 does this. If that is true, I suggest implementing that so that when trying to load/unload a filament I'm not given a warning to preheat first, it should do it automatically.
Also, it would be neat to offer larger scaled up versions of this printer. Imagine the i3 MK3 in 3 sizes. I'd love a larger build volume of the same printer.
Happy to be here. What an amazing company, people, and printer! Loving this!

Re: Suggestion: Auto preheat when loading/unloading filament
I agree, though it would still need to prompt you for which material you are preheating for, since trying to unload PETG at PLA temperatures would probably not go well. But at least the process could be streamlined so that you don't have to wait for the error / preheat first message to go away, navigate through the preheat menu, start it heating up, etc.
But, unload could be problematic, as the preheating would need to be completed before the unload happens, and once the unload happens you would need to be right there to pull the filament out. Loading an already empty extruder would be easier, as you could just insert the new filament up to the gear, and it could take it when the preheating is done.
