Spring steel sheet damaged after the first prints

Hello,
the spring steel sheet of my new printer is damaged. And I don't no why!

Today the pruse mk3 printed a little box. After the print was finished on the spring steel sheet are some damaged spots (on the corner of the printed box). See picture.

I printed the box with PLA and the the default settings for pla.

Could me tell anybody what I do wrong?
Or is threre a production error on the spring steel sheet?

Best regards
Christoph

Those "bubbles" are normal and will apparently disappear as you use and heat cycle it..

They are heat bubbles, mine have all gone away after a few pri this. They reappear once in a while. I think it is just part of the sticker sheet. You should be ok based on my experience having similar symptoms.

As jweaver said, the bubbles are normal. They tend to appear at the corners after long prints, I suspect due to the print attempting to lift off of the surface and taking the PEI with it.

They will come and go as you print things of different sizes. Not a big deal and nothing to worry about. I suspect that the powder coated sheets wont have this issue.

Yes. If you hae something *REALLY* stuck to the PEI sheet and try to pull it off, this will happen also. I had it happen once, and it has since gone away. Also, if you DO have something REALLY stuck, put some IPA on the corners of the part, and it will help detach it.

It would simply detach from the metal... Likely flaking off... and unlike the PEI sheets which are fairly easily replaced... there is no "repair".

Hi, I'm Sean. I used to work on CNC machines.
I try to not make mistakes, but the decision is YOURS.

Re: Spring steel sheet damaged after the first prints

I have had this happen on my build sheet multiple times and seems to always appear on square objects of a decent size and for prints that run a fairly long time. They normally just go away over time and as far as I can tell its not doing any damage to the PEI surface itself.

Re: Spring steel sheet damaged after the first prints

The bubbles used to cause me headaches as I have often found then interfere with print to bed adhesion enough to adversely affect ABS and other similar plastics that have a high tendency to warp, of which I print in rather regularly. Since getting my Mk3 I have discovered that I can avoid these headaches by inverting the Spring Steel sheet whenever the bumps start to cause issues. By the time I start having issues with the second side, the bumps on the first side have gone away.
