Speed setting question

Hello Makers,

I'm new to 3d printing and just received my Mk3.

I set the speed on the slicer to 50% but i see the printer running at 100.

Do I have to manually adjust the printer speed to 50%?

I do notice the temp drops to 200degrees from default 215.

Thanks!

Re: Speed setting question

Hi,
if you set the Speed in your slicer to 50%, it means 50% of x mm/s.
E.g. If your default speed is 100mm/s, you are now printing at 50mm/s.
The speed displayed on your printer simply says, that it is printing at 100% of this speed ( in this example 50mm/s).
So, no, you dont have to adjust it on your printer anymore.

The temperature drop is most likely linked to your cooling Fan. Try a lower fan speed, so the temperature wont drop that much

Re: Speed setting question

The temperature drop may also be due to the higher temperature when printing the first layer. Then the temperature of the remaining layers is lowered.
Temperature reduction is configured in the slicer program's material profile (eg PLA, PETG, ABS ...).

If you lower the fan speed, you may have other unwanted effects on your printing.
