Re: Slic3r Prusa Edition 1.42.0-alpha7

Thank you both (Michael and you) for explanation. I did try, but i really couldn't figure it out. I don't have MMU unit, and also i didn't try models with "hanging" parts, so at the end both clicks ended up pretty much the same. I did notice that parts are moving together while objects are moving separately, but i really couldn't conclude why this would be usefull...

So, basically, until i get myself an MMU unit (it WILL come one lucky day - i hope...) "objects" is the thing for me...

Any comment on the regression I reported in this thread (post #10)?

First of all THERE'S NO NEED TO SHOUT! writing with capitals means that you're shouting! WHY?
Second, noone will help you with so useless comment. WHAT doesn't work properly?

Re: Slic3r Prusa Edition 1.42.0-alpha7

I am having a problem with the new updates. I am not sure if this is where I need to post it at but I will start here.

With the new updates 3.6.0 firmware the 1.0.5 MMU2 update and the SlicEr PE 1.41.3 update I am getting duplicate extruder selection T-codes at the start of the program, which causes the printer to stall with a message of "Duplicit T-code ignored".

I can fix the code by editing the second extruder call out of the code but I really would like to not have to. 😉

This is the start of the code-

This is the same case as https://github.com/prusa3d/slic3r/issues/1920
Fixed with https://github.com/prusa3d/Slic3r/commit/c4829338453691371fc089d0aaf2cb9271417415
It will be part of the upcoming beta

Unfortunately, the beta seems to be broken. Please see my bug report on github:

The mac version seems to be ok but I forgot to grab a set of the Alpha7 .ini files as I had become used to them coming along automaticly with each new alpha, and now I have to reconstruct them from scratch as the beta has just the Prusa provided .ini file that its configuration assistant sets up.
so be sure to save a set of your alpha .ini files before you move to the beta

I don't know how the settings work on MacOS, but on Windows the beta created a new settings folder along side of the stable and alpha settings folder (in appdata\roaming). So, you can actually have the previous stable, one of the alphas, and the beta all installed and running side by side. Try reinstalling alpha 7 to see if the settings are still there. Save out your settings bundle. Fire up the beta and import the settings bundle. I did see a bug report of someone why tried copying their alpha settings into the beta settings folder and Slic3r choked, but the beta seems to load the settings bundle exported by the alpha ok. (Unless that is the root of my problem...) 😉

For others watching, I just saw on github that this issue is resolved and will be in the next release (next beta?) I'm not sure what caused the issue, but what ever I did caused a divide by zero error... Trust me to try to break the rules of mathematics.

Thanks this worked just as you outline above....
