Did it work for you before? Your graphics card needs to support at least OpenGL 2.0.

We all would love to have it. We also would love to have reliable background processing. Those two features are actually interdependent, and we already started to work on that, but more pressing issues popped up in the meantime.

We have requested to blacklist the Prusa3D devices for the modemmanager, it is already in the upstream modemmanager. Now the change need to trickle through the distros.
What ill effects could be expected from uninstalling the modem manager?
What is it's purpose?
Re: Slic3r Prusa Edition 1.40.1 - FINAL
the modem manager is supposed to automatically configure gprs network adapters. If I were you, I would remove it. It surprises me, that such a deamon is installed by default on Debian and Ubuntu.
Re: Slic3r Prusa Edition 1.40.1 - FINAL
Could there be a Linux 32 build of Slic3r? I fail to compile it under recent Debian.
Re: Slic3r Prusa Edition 1.40.1 - FINAL
I'm having a problem. The heatbed graphic is not loading, I've just got a white box.
Re: Slic3r Prusa Edition 1.40.1 - FINAL
Is there a way to insert the color changes in Slic3r 1.40.1 like there is in Prusa Control?

This is caused by old OpenGL driver, which does not support textures of size, which is not a power of 2. We are working on a fix.

We are working on that as well.
Re: Slic3r Prusa Edition 1.40.1 - FINAL
hi, can i ask if you'd consider putting Axis labels on the platter area? when i need to flip or rotate something i invarably use the incorrect axis, until i guess the correct one.
thanks

I found a bug when importing two .stl files from fusion360, that the origins are align incorrectly.. (even when made from components)
Pete.

Hi peter,
I printed a two colour layer separation model today using 1.40.1
I added the first part as normal, then used the 'Object/settings/load part ' menu to load the second part in correct relation to first part,
is this what you do?

When you import each STL file, Slic3r positions it in the center of the print bed. This is as the software is designed.
If you need to load multiple STL files and have them maintain their relative position (for example, different parts of a multicolor print), you need to do the following:
Re: Slic3r Prusa Edition 1.40.1 - FINAL
I found that loading three larger parts onto the bed, it automatically puts two of them outside the print area. I have to manually move them so they fit. There needs to be an auto arrange (which makes it fit if possible) like Simply 3D has.

No i just imported them or added, but i just tried that method you suggested and the second part/s do not show up at all..

hi Peter, can you share the parts?
add to a zip file and include as an attachment?

Sure...
Re: Slic3r Prusa Edition 1.40.1 - FINAL
Good afternoon Peter,
Thank you for the STL's
I note that your text is only one layer thick, to get a good presebtation, you will need to use colours with good contrast and opacity... for instance:
Yellow text on Black is likely to give poor results, because yellow has poor opacity,
Black text on Yellow is likely to give better results because Black generally has good opacity... Beware, on multicolour printers, Yellow, normally needs greater purge values, to prevent contamination of the yellow, from the black that was previously in the extruder.
you attached two STL's
Spacer Text &
Spacer Outline
I added Spacer Text to Slic3r first, then used the
Object Settings, tool, to add part,
Spacer outline
Spacer Text
Spacer Outline
Because these items are one on top of the other, it looks like a single green piece.
I allocated
Extruder 1 to the text, and
Extruder 2 to the spacer...
and if you look at the underside it looks like this
so I exported the G code, and ... see next post

Re: Slic3r Prusa Edition 1.40.1 - FINAL
Printed something like this...
20180831_211137[1].jpg
As you can see, the thin lines on the text, are thinner than Slic3r will handle with a 0.4mm nozzle
I did try reducing the extrusion width for the first layer, to 0.35mm... it did print, (including the thin lines...) but the quality was poor,
not really surprising when I was trying to print thinner than the nozzle width!

Re: Slic3r Prusa Edition 1.40.1 - FINAL
if you are going to include details like this, you need to be aware of the pitfalls...
had you made the text, use a different typeface, or played about with the typeface that you chose..(perhaps used BOLD text) the thin lines would have been thicker... and would have printed...
alternatively, you could have used a smaller nozzle, but that would probably have been a waste for a spacer...
I had a bit of a play with your text, and stretched it vertically, and then printed it again....
I don't have fusion360 or your construction files, so I mocked up the spacer, because I couldn't erase the old text cutouts in the STL... and I put the cutout on the wrong side...
the bar of the letter A, is still too thin, but you will probably get the Idea

Wow Joan, thanks for the effort but yes, the final result is more that fine result wise, and yes did use fusion, but the txt was created out of outlines from Ai, since fusion wouldn't read/show the the font i picked..
Did mange to get a sample to work, and yes only modeled the txt at 0.2mm in height in fusion, but it came out pretty nice, considering I'm and novice only had my Prusa i3 MK3 for 2 weeks odd..
Pete.
