Simple problem made worse - need some advice
Hi all, I have a stock mk3s+ that's been in service for a couple of years. I was dialing in a calibration when I moved to a textured PEI sheet and I scraped some filament too aggressively where the thermistor is and shorted it. I am now getting a "Err: Mintemp" on the screen. After some research, it looks like a fresh thermistor will get me back on track. I ordered it and started to prep the printer for the swap.
I could not turn the 1.5m screw that holds the thermistor in place and I can't get the printer to heat up, so I applied some heat from a heat gun. Apparently the tiny adapter I was using to direct the heat was not tiny enough, the superPINDA arm and shaft warped. The PINDA has no friction and is laying off-level.
1. Is there a way I can free up the screw holding the thermistor or any tricks that may help?
2. What is the best way to fix the PINDA arm. Should I order a new part? Anyone know what that part is called?
Thanks in advance!
PS, man this forum is running slow today!
RE: Simple problem made worse - need some advice
Prusa have been advised that the forum is slow in many areas of the world.
If you describe where in the world you are, someone local may print a part for you?
Maker spaces. Hacker spaces or some libraries may be able to help with Printed parts,
JLCPCB offer 3D printing services,
Etsy shops may offer parts services,
Of course Prusa also offer parts services, but courier delivery may be a prohibitive price/

The PiNDA arm is integrated in the main body of the extruder. To replace it you’d need to disassemble practically the extruder from scratch. Yes, a PITA...
The part name is, unsurprisingly, ‘extruder-body.stl”.

Yep, I pretty much did this!

Where are you located? If it's in Europe, preferably in Germany, I could print the part for you and send it over.
