Re: Ship Date Tracking Spreadsheet

In this moment i tought on the case when i have the printer here and do have any issues with that. They will maybe decline any case of warranty or something, too. I mean if they dont have any meaningful solution for their issue and do not even make free the shipping costs for the reordered plate. Then i dont see any kind of customer friendlieness... Therefore i cancelled my whole Order!

Its a shame, cause the printer is so great, and i love to support "small" companys or startups like exactly such one. But you will recognice a good company how they are handling their issues and do their service.

This is only my experience with Prusa and my constructive critism to them which i wanted to share.

When you ordered in July you were told that there was delays and you could also read it from their shipping table.
The only thing you can pin on the customer service is that they are not quick to inform about delays and that they maybe not know enough about the new delivery problems.
You cannot presume anything about their product support because one of their manufactures are having problems with delivery.

Prusa may have set the bar to high with the powder coated PEI spring sheets. But we don't know what the manufactures have promised when they where asked if they could produce this part. We know that Prisa have already changed to another manufacture of these sheets because the quality control did not approve the batches.

We are all waiting because Prusa refuse to send us bad products 😉

I would just like to see the shipping charts updated so that we are not left in the dark.

If you look at the Google sheet then more that one from the second week of June have received their order in the beginning of August. Then we may presume that there are 22-25 days from this order to your order. So maybe you will get a tracking number withing the next 14 days?

I too thought about canceling. I think he pulled the plug a little too early.

I would agree, I think PRUSA owes the community more and better updates on shipping delays. If not public, by email would be sufficient.

@boris.d:
You are generally right. And I know their shipping table as i placed my order (and its actually not as mentioned). But having issues with their manufactures is not my issue.
About such things prusa needs to inform their customers frequently (how you said) and they need to offer solutions to the community.
I think making the shipping for free for the new ordered additional sheets for the affected users would not be a big deal for them, and was a suitable solution to mee. But no - better cancel the whole order

Re: Ship Date Tracking Spreadsheet

I don't know the cost of the parts for the printer. But there is development, salary for the employees, rent for the headquarter etc.
I believe the manufacturing cost is at least twice in Czech Republic compared to China and the shipping is even more expensive.

So they would probably need to bump the price to above 1000 USD for the assembled MK3's if everyone would get free shipping on the powder coated PEI spring sheets.

If they knew that the printer would have been delayed more than 6 month, then they would probably never have released it with the power coated PEI spring steel sheet.

They gave the option of free shipping of the powder coated PEI sheet to the early orders because they ran into obstacles. But they didn't expect the sheet problems to delay orders placed after April.

I agree. Things happen and some of them are unexpected.

I provide a service to my customers. I keep them informed when there are unexpected obstacles and delays to keep them happy. I am currenly just not seeing that from PRUSA. I absolutely can understand the frustration.

Re: Ship Date Tracking Spreadsheet

I added my order to the Google document, it seems to have been deleted. I read back a ways and people were talking about usual purchaser of a Prusa isn't going to know about the document so it won't be encompass most orders, if deletions of lines also happened often, that kills information too. No point in putting my information back in there if it'll just be deleted again.

Re: Ship Date Tracking Spreadsheet

You guys waiting for your mk3's have ordered it with the powder coated sheet?

I thought you could order it with the smooth PEI sheet and get a voucher for the powder coated sheet when available?

I got mine with the smooth PEI sheet less than a week after ordering it.

You could get the voucher if you originally ordered a powder-coated sheet before they became available. You won't get a voucher if you ordered a PEI kit.

I too, think mario.r6 was a bit too quick, quoting from customer support today: "I am sorry about that, we had a shortage of powder coated sheets again, but this week we should get very big batch of them. Sadly I can not promise it, but we should be able to ship over thousand of them later this or next week"

Your order is in the sheet. Someone is too damn stupid to read the instructions, and keep adding filters to the sheet.

Re: Ship Date Tracking Spreadsheet

I ordered the mk3 kit and some extra filament and PEI sheets, about $1080 total or so including $120 UPS 3 day shipping, 2 days ago. Package is now in the US, but this is the UPS status:

Louisville, KY, United States 08/17/2018 9:20 A.M. Additional documentation is required on the merchandise description.

Anyone have any idea what this means? I have ordered from overseas many times but this is the first time I have seen this. Do I need to contact customer service or just sit back and let it work itself out?

TIA

Re: Ship Date Tracking Spreadsheet

This is fairly normal. You will get more information once it goes through customs.

Re: Ship Date Tracking Spreadsheet

After checking the schedule (zero changes in 2 weeks), I contacted support. Once again, they have gotten less than the number of expected powder coated sheets. They recommended that I not change my order, so we wait.

PRUSA really need to be more transparent and offer more frequent updates.

I feel you there. Still waiting on a powder coated sheet for my printer ordered last October.

That is ridiculous. You cannot even contest a purchase after 6 months.

Re: Ship Date Tracking Spreadsheet

Ordered mine on June 20th... Still waiting.

Been told on 3 separate interactions, over 2 weeks, with tech support that it should ship "today or tomorrow".

I HAVE to be next in line.... Fingers crossed I see a shipping notification before the end of AUGUST!

Then you will have to wait at least 2 weeks more, because i have ordered before you and not received any tracking yet.
