Re: Ship Date Tracking Spreadsheet

Thanks for the clarification and updates, Zaz :).

On another note, every time I see someone clicking all over the sheet, or editing a single cell for a reaaaally long time, I get a little anxious as I'm secretly certain I'm about to have to combat accidental vandalism :P. (I'm looking at you, Anonymous Llama editing L178 for the last hour..)

Please remember to close the sheet when you aren't using it - I think a lot of our pets are undoing our work 😛

(Edit: I'm still looking at you, Anonymous Llama editing L178 for the last 6 hours.......!)

YES!! Ordered 9-26-2017, just got "Order Being Packed" announcement on 12/14/2017!!!

I feel like I was passed up. I ordered early on the 25th of September and it still hasn't been shipped yet. I ordered a standard Orange Kit. 😕

EDIT: I see people who ordered on the 27th are shipping, maybe I should ask support?

So far I have not seen a "Shipping" notice, only the "Order being packed" notice.

Yah, but I haven't even gotten that. I did have a random email saying my order had been shipped a month ago and I contacted support and they said it was a mistake. I wonder if it messed with their process.

Hold up being impressed until they have actually delivered it in that time. The current worldwide average from shipped to delivered in the spreadsheet is currently around four days, but it has a high variance.

Edit: Just checked the numbers from the spreadsheet filtered for USA, you're looking at an average 5.4 days, with a standard deviation of 3.8, between shipped and delivered. Let's see how close you get. 😀

I had that for 24 hours before it was actually shipped. The make the shipping label first. You will next get a Pickup and customs update. After that you get a delivery date. Wooohooo. mine is 3 day delivery for USA.

Now I'm just throwing estimates here, so take this with a grain of salt.

Looks like things are speeding up; The stats page says Prusa Research is now shipping >12 units being tracked per day on average. There are about ~40 orders ahead of 9/30 on the charts that don't have their tracking numbers yet. There are only 6 orders currently on 9/30 on the charts.

To be fair, we don't know if they're speeding up or if we just got a lot more Week 39s than we did Launch Week orders on the chart. It doesn't mean there really were this many Week 39s compared to Launch Week, we just don't know.

At this rate though, you should have your tracking number in the next ~4 business days. That puts them right on track to get Week 40 shipping from the week of Dec 18th.

Re: Ship Date Tracking Spreadsheet

Hmmmm, I know they stated that assembled and kit shipping dates are similar but from the list it looks like kits are shipping ahead of assembled printers... bummer cos I ordered the mk3 assembled 😥

If I had to guess, I would say a lot of the Assembled MK3s are going to Businesses/MakerSpaces/etc that probably aren't participating in the charts. In general I think we have a relatively low percentage of actual MK3 orders, so we have a very limited view.

I notice I am an "assembled order" ending in 2837 with no word yet, while kit orders with numbers as high as 3144 indicate they have their tracking numbers already.
So even if this is a limited sampling and there is no way to know how many of these orders are for MK3's, it do appear kits are leapfrogging over the assembled orders.
That said, I am surprised how few of the listed orders are for assembled printers. I am also surprised how few are for the all black versions. I guess I'm easily surprised. And I am perfectly willing to be surprised with a tracking number. I can't really imagine what sort of a madhouse Prusa becomes when they get an avalanche of orders all at once.
Only a little off topic, but last night I asked how much it would delay my order if I switched from orange/black to all black. I was told it could delay things by as much as two weeks because the small number of all black orders means they are only producing them once a week. I stayed with my original order.

Re: Ship Date Tracking Spreadsheet

Had a little on-line chat tonight with Peter at Prusa and he said that kits are shipping ahead of assembled MK3s but only a difference of a couple days.
It's understandable as it takes longer to assemble a printer than it does to ship them as kits.
Sigh. It's kind of fun to care this much about something.
I am so pleased with the high quality and speed of my MK2, I am excited to see how it can be any better with the MK3.

This is actually quite interesting information. I knew that all black color option was not that common, but it was news to me that black color option might mean obvious delivery delays in these days. I'd rather get my printer with any available color, than delay it's delivery.

Feels like they are behind schedule ?

I'm thinking of cancel my order.....
Customer support only reefers to the simple estimated calender they posted a couple a weeks ago and they just don't mention anything about the reality ?

Are they allot delayed? I hoped for getting my kit before the end of this year but thats impossible I'm afraid .......

Does the sheet shows that they are on track or allot behind ? I can't tell...?!

Re: Ship Date Tracking Spreadsheet

I was sceptical about this spreadsheet but it does offer useful clues - as in a tracking reference is generally the day after packing - and that puts them behind Those that ordered on 27th packed yesterday, my bet is they'll ship on Monday. Just based on that reference it's clear that they don't pack on weekends.

It would be so so useful if Prusa actually maintained the tracking and shipping side - and we added the received side. The mainland EU seem to receive next day, UK 3 days, USA between 5 and 6 days.

Means the spreadsheet is actually pretty interesting - so I put my order in it. Based on the way this is running my printer won't even pack until Tuesday 19th, that means shipping on the 20th - and a tracking reference doesn't mean it has left the factory - only when you can track it on UPS has it been scanned into the system.

UPS have stated on their website that Christmas deliveries must be on the van by the 18th - I've given up any thoughts of doing anything with the printer this year. Any planning I had has been thrown in the trash and I've moved on, even if it arrives given the season it is and the way my work diary is I doubt it will come out of its box until Feb.

Disappointing but not the end of life as we know it.
