Re: Ship Date Tracking Spreadsheet

Can't wait to get mine. My first project will be this gyrotourbillon ( https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2820444 ). I already have all the bearings, brass tubes, rods, screws, etc.

Wow, that's quite a first project. I take it's not your first 3D printer then.
I'm a complete beginner, and will start with a calibration cube 🙂

Re: Ship Date Tracking Spreadsheet

I see some week 9 kits already shipped. So I guess the dates are moved more than needed "just to be safe". Either way, I must be getting mine (second day of week 10) sometime end of next week if lucky.

They're moving fast! A considerable amount of week 9 orders are done. If we assume you're not the only one who's not put the date sent, that is 😉

What PEI sheet did you order? Any other reason why it would be delayed? Did you order any other items with the MK3 kit?

There was no option at the time I placed the order to specify a type of build plate. I request an autograph if it didn't delay shipping in the comments section after i placed my order. Nothing else ordered. I just assumed they were shipping everything with PEI sheet due to the powder coating supply issues. I just got done going thru all of this with Prusa Chat and that i just want the printer with whatever functioning build built they are shipping and i restated that an autograph was not necessary. They told me they have NO IDEA WHY MY ORDER HASN'T SHIPPED. Since I'm in Oregon, USA, +9 hours to Prusa, they can't ask the shipping department, 10:30 pm there. They told me to email them directly for an explanation. So I did, but it sounds like passing the buck to me. I even tried to bride chat with the thought of me sending pictures of hot all-american college girls to bump my queue.... even though I'm just a dumb fat american father in his 40's.... I even tried begging.

Send them a note via their support page. I've done that in the past and have received a response confirm that they would not hold the order due to the powder coat issue. Given that they've already marked week 5 as having shipped, I think it's only reasonable that they provide an explanation...

Re: Ship Date Tracking Spreadsheet

When I placed an order back in feb (and like everyone else, paid the full financial cost up front) the shipping table suggested there was a 5-6 week wait. I wasn't too concerned when the shipping dates were put back for the first time. I wasn't even too bothered when they were delayed again. The wait's approaching 10 weeks now and the shipping table suggests that they are 'now shipping'. It would be good if it were accurate, but it's become clear to me that there's an unreasonable amount of playing-with-words going on and, as customers, we don't actually have a real idea as to where we stand.

Having contacted support a couple of times by email over the past few weeks (once referring to a product but taking the opportunity to ask about dispatch dates) and then just this morning via live chat, I'll admit that I am now feeling a bit miffed. I was originally told my order would be sent out in early April, then April 23rd, and now I am advised it's scheduled for a May 1st dispatch, but they can't guarantee anything; especially seeing as May 1st is their public holiday! They must be kidding, right? The customer support member even went on to say that recent local holidays had delayed them.

So, what they're telling us is that Prusa Research is so incompetent that they are unable to plan for their own local and national holidays. They're suggesting that delays caused by employee flu during the winter season were unforeseeable and, from the tone and approach of their editorial, It almost feels like we, the customer, should be feeling sorry for them and the unfortunate position that they have found themselves in. It's as if we should be understanding, without question, when Prusa Research have messed up the dispatch schedule and sent out (what appears to be) many printers early to new customers, not to mention the fact (as the unofficial spreadsheet shows) that there are large numbers of customers receiving shipping dates, or even their machines, well before others who placed orders days or even weeks earlier.

I now understand why the shipping table also mentions: 'We can positively surprise you and send it sooner'. Which appears to translate as: We quite frequently mess up and may dispatch your order out of sequence and before other unfortunate and extremely patient customers.

It's utterly unacceptable. And the fact that customers have not been kept updated and apologised to directly (by email etc.) just shows the lack of care being displayed by the company and, let's be real here, it's head honcho.

It's very disappointing and not good at all.

Just the cherry on top of all the crap.....

So my kit order from 16/02 had a shipping label generated on Wednesday for delivery Friday.

Today they can't even tell me if the order has been handed over to ups or not.

If it isn't here next week I think I will cancel a delivery just buy something else, this is just getting stupid

Re: Ship Date Tracking Spreadsheet

Ordered MK3 Orange Kit Feb 2, 2018.... just got tracking number & shipping notice today (April 27, 2018) and [EDIT] 2 apologies via email.

So if you ordered before me, I'd HIGHLY suggest emailing [email protected], Attn: Shipping Department, as they filter their email and Prusa Chat had me do this since my order was clearly lost and chat had no more excuses to give.

I found it odd that as a customer I had to email their shipping department instead of the Prusa Chat employee doing this them self. Also i think i was lucky enough that a Prusa employee on a Facebook group seen my comments about my order being lost and they could have pushed the order some from their end. And I'm not one to push social media for a response, just stating the few facts that i had. Once I did this, it only took one day to get my late lost order found and shipped. Even though I've been asking about it for 3weeks. Also note that it appears people that have ordered up to 1 month after me are getting their orders shipped as I type this. So I truely believe that my order was lost or printed legs and ran away.

Re: Ship Date Tracking Spreadsheet

I finally got my printer last night. Was the second tracking number they sent me a week and a half ago not the first tracking number they sent 3 weeks ago, so the first was obviously a fake tracking number.

Did any of you guys owe duty on these? i was charged $136 by UPS before they would hand it over, im in Canada.

Not in a hurry to build this, my enthusiasm has lowered significantly since i ordered it, and with the month long wait times for support being reported in past month or two its probably good im not in a hurry anymore because if i have any issues they wont be resolved quickly anyways.

Maybe throw it together next weekend or even push it back to late may/june, weather is just starting to get good here im spending most of my weekends outside this time of year. Maybe they will even fix the extrusion issue by the time i assemble it.

UPS + Canada sucks. Although mine was only 80$.

Canada doesn't have an exception amount like the US does at 800$. So unfortunately UPS/DHL are always going to charge you GST + brokerage fees on any order with them. It really sucks. I'm guessing your in a province with PST/HST which is why yours was higher than mine

Re: Ship Date Tracking Spreadsheet

I sent an email to the lads at Prusa. They responded promptly. Doing great so far. The problem lies in the fact that they don't understand what is really happening in terms of their operations.

Businesses don't get teleported into bankruptcy. It is a slow calculated delivery of excuses for operational failure one after the other. Because they don't address them in real terms they make the customer take the hit. They have your money , you have nothing months after they took it (by the way did you notice how fast it left your bank account - it seems the accounts people were imune to the flu.) and all they can say is it is not our fault.

We had supply issues, the flu hit a lot of staff. These are all true and correct but in business they still amount to excuses.

It is relatively easy to fix. Fire your operations manager if you have one and employ someone who knows about operations in the real world. Co-erce leverage with your suppliers and throw some of your hard earned cash at the problem.

Bankruptcy is just a handful of apathetic excuses away from your next end of month. And finally no matter how geniune you are, don't tell people they will get their stuff on Friday, only to tell them again when you fail to deliver you meant next Friday and so on and so on.

All that being said I will say they do have us by the proverbials since they are the best in terms of 3D printing. We do need to support them as long as we are allowed to speak our minds.

Be gracious always and accept your current fate. It will all work out in the end.
