Re: Ship Date Tracking Spreadsheet

For folks in the US, in case you noticed UPS is dropping (disconnecting) phone calls like hot potatoes when they see Koeln, Germany, and a delay notice...... four times... no harsh language (other than the supervisor to the agent after learning about the calls :P).
I had to get a supervisor BEFORE giving them the tracking number, so as to not have my call dropped...

According to UPS, when there's a delay in Germany, it busts their web tracking system somehow. The lady mentioned the issue with the delay is due to high capacity, and she saw info that she conceded that the web didn't have.

Example, mine said there's no ETA on delivery since this morning.... However, when I finally got a supervisor to look at it, they told me the web tracking is out of sync and outdated. UPS has advised me, that my printer (shipped 1/16) is slated to be in Louisville, KY tonight, and to be delivered tomorrow before end of day.

I will note, it IS possible to go from Louisville to Birmingham, and be delivered all in the same day, but not likely.
Although shipping carriers almost has a dedicated runway at our airport here, I think their delivery of tomorrow is overly optimistic, so I'll chill until 1/24. 😉

I'll update the sheet once received.

That's good to hear that update. Mine also shipped on 1/16 and had a delay in Germany. Considering how many packages UPS deals with, its impressive that PR managed to crash the tracking system from order volume.
Hopefully we get our printers on Tuesday, but I'm not gonna hold my breath....

I just advanced the highlighting for Assembled Units to Week 42 as it is now Tuesday, January 23 at ~7:00 AM in Praque, Czechia, and orders for Jan 23rd will soon be shipping (next ~12 hours).

I seriously doubt Prusa is the bottleneck in DE, otherwise, I can blame them for the 5 days my bicycle hub sat in DE last year... it took my unit a day to go from DE to FR, funny I thought the Cologne hub was their main European hub,

Re: Ship Date Tracking Spreadsheet

Finally got an estimated delivery date today. Scheduled delivery for today (1/23/2018)
Hope thats correct because today is the only day in my schedule with only one class, so I am free most of today. Roanoke, VA is only 1 hour away from Blacksburg, for reference... (I am so excited!)

I still have "information unavailable" for delivery though it was originally 1/24 but I don't see that happening.

Excuse me, but where did I or the other gentleman say Prusa was the bottleneck in DE?
What the hell am I missing here?

It looks like I'm going to have to rattle/narc on UPS today. Mine didn't update like yours did. In fact, no update at all. Maybe they pulled up your tracking number when they were talking to me about mine! LOL

First off, nice troll attempt. I read the post. Let me say it slowly...
In no universe did I see Martin nor myself say, nor try to blame Prusa in any way, form, or fashion, for issues with UPS's issues with shipping out of Germany. End of story.

I would appreciate if you would let us speak for ourselves instead of trying to say that we blame Prusa for this shipping shortcoming. I may critique Prusa on their lack of communication with the backorder of their flagship product, but NOT on the shipping carrier's actions once the thing is out of Prusa's warehouse.

Re: Ship Date Tracking Spreadsheet

Hi guys! My two cents here. I'm a first-time Prusa customer but I bought my first 3D printer from a small company (Solidoodle, anybody remembers them?) a few years back. At the time, I remember waiting maybe 6 months for it.

My order might be shipped in the next few days (I ordered 24/10) and I am anxiously waiting for it...

I've followed the discussions and it's kind of amusing to see that with this kind of "handcrafted" products there are always the same issues, both from the company and the customer side. Communication from support could be better, it's true, but I've followed many product launches (as a customer) and it is always the case.

My impression is that Prusa is actually doing better than most.

So my advice is: buy a bottle of whisky or of your favorite alcoholic beverage, sit down, relax, and everything will be fine.

I understand that we are all excited but this is just how things work in this field.

Of course, if by the end of the week I don't have a printer, I'll start spamming support so hard that they'll need to upgrade their servers 🙂 Just kidding. 🙂

Whatever, I don't really need to get in a pissing contest over this as it's really trivial and was never a troll atempt on my part, sorry to all who have to endure this little misunderstanding. I'll put what martin said in his post in quotes below. You are correct he didn't say they were at fault for issues out of Germany he said they crashed a worldwide logistics company. I guess I overstated what he meant...

Only Prusa could crash a worldwide logistics company. Impressive.

On a lighter note, I've added a new field to the User Info Lookup page on the spreadsheet that attempts to calculate delivery time. It's only getting data from the spreadsheet and does not imply any delivery timetable from Prusa. Please let me know if its worth keeping, or does it just make the waiting that more painful? 😐

Highlighting added by me for emphasis. Now I'll move on from this... Apologies to all...

Re: Ship Date Tracking Spreadsheet

Well I was correct, I will be receiving my printer today! 😀
Once I assemble it, I will double check and make sure my CAD models are correct (Fairly certain they are)

😀 This is awesome that you guys have yours. If I receive mine before the event this weekend, I'll be doing a build demonstration at an event that has about 2000 people participating. If not, then... whooooops!

P.S. I don't know what Edward's problem is... He can pound sand.

How long has it been taking people to build their kit?

It took me about 10 hours but I truly took my time and made sure I followed the guide 100%. I took time out to put blue loc-tite on all of the Y axis screws, nothing that will come in contact with plastic. I had a ton of fun with the assembly.

Re: Ship Date Tracking Spreadsheet

When I ordered my MK3 kit on 17-dec, the fellow on chat informed me that by choosing orange instead of black parts, I will receive my kit a week earlier. Likewise, kits ship faster than built units.

This tidbit of info was from back in December, and processes at PR manufacturing are most likely tuned since then. But I just wanted to chime in, that maybe there are several queues for the shipping and not one single FIFO.

Give the packing & shipping elves a break. They are under quite the pressure and deliveries are being made.

Cheers
