Revo 6 Preordered!
Well. I just ordered a Revo 6 from E3D. Has anyone else pre-ordered a Revo and has anyone received theirs yet?
Yesterday, E3d's Revo 6 page showed "100+ available with short delay" and today it was 500+!
So, it sounds like it's possible that they've got production going and their backlog is getting caught up, yet the page still indicates that Revo will start shipping in March. Either way, I'll wait if I have to but a "short delay" would be nicer.
I have been using a Mosquito for a year or so with great results, but as it uses the traditional 6mm heaters and 3mm thermistors, I have gone through a couple of heaters and a thermistor.
Although the Mosquito itself works flawlessly, it does require a suitably modified extruder and I prefer to use standard design parts, which the Revo 6 allows use of.
I'm very curious to see how well E3D's integrated heater/thermistor holds up, and I very much like the safety factor of the self-limiting heater in case of control failure. As I do some really long prints from time to time I was considering constructing some kind of overtemp auto shutdown for the mains but E3D's approach is much easier.

RE: Revo 6 Preordered!
Preordered too!
Sorry for my poor English. I try to do my best.
RE: Revo 6 Preordered!
I'll wait at least one or two years to see how patenting of the revo affects the available range of nozzles and spare parts. As far as I know they haven't made a statement on their licensing policy yet. I think its quite likely they will be up for licensing the nozzle design. I am not so sure about the heater block. It's unlikely I'll ever get a Revo if E3D is the only source for spares.
RE: Revo 6 Preordered!
Currently using a Mosquito hotend in my MK3S+. I see no reason whatsoever to replace it with a Revo. All the advantages offered by the Revo over the stock E3D hotend are already present in the Mosquito and I can use regular V6 nozzles, which is not the case with the Revo.
RE: Revo 6 Preordered!
I've also pre-ordered a Revo 6 for my I3 MK3S. And I fully expect I'll buy at least one of their ObXidian Revo nozzles to use with abrasives once they become available. I probably would have been happy with a Dragon hot end if I hat bought one before the 'troubles'. But there isn't a huge difference in price between parting together a Dragon, buying a Mosquito, and buying the Revo 6. The Mosquito requires I print new extruder parts where as the Revo 6 is reported to be a drop-in. The Revo seems to me to be more of a technological advance than the Mosquito with better wire management and tool free nozzle changes. And from a purely emotional stand point I feel better giving my money to E3D than Slice or a Chinese cloner.
Had I purchased a Dragon or a Mosquito I expect I would not even consider the Revo as they both seem like fine solutions. But as an upgrade for my stock MK3S V6 hot end I think the Revo 6 is the best option for me.
RE: Revo 6 Start Shipping 16 Feb!
Just got an email from E3D
The Preordered Revos start shipping tomorrow, the 16th of February!
First come, first served, or maybe First In First Out.... Those that ordered first get shipped first.
As I ordered mine only two weeks ago, I probably will be waiting awhile. It'll be interesting to see how long it takes!

RE: Revo 6 Preordered!
Received the Revo in record time, I had pre-made a standard extruder, so it was out with the Mosquito extruder and in with a standard extruder with the Revo. It just printed an excellent Benchy. No surprises... it fits in place of a standard v6 but is easier to deal with. Triple thumbs up to E3D!
I very much like the cabling arrangement on the Revo. The Mosquito wiring worked out better than a standard v6 and the Revo 6 is better yet.
