Replacing nozzles

How often or after how many working hours should you replace your nozzle?

I have a brass nozzle about due for replacement, it has done about 4000 hours.  I keep the worn ones for glow in the darkj filament which is slightly abrasive, they are OK for 50 - 100 more hours if the surface finish is not important.

Cheerio,

RE: Replacing nozzles

The only indication that nozzle needs to be replaced, is the amount of wear at the bottom of the nozzle. Brass is relative soft material and bottom of the nozzle is actually grinded during printing, which also influences the shape of the nozzle hole. But this process is very slow, as long normal (non-abrasive) filaments are used.
My opinion... normal brass nozzle can last for many hundreds of hours.
