PrusaSlicer 2.4.2 - Supports Optimization
Hi Guys,
I have been using my i3MK3s+ for about two years and really love the quality prints I get. I print mostly in PETG and a little in PLA.
I have a question about Supports please, when printing PETG and PLA. To date I have only used the Slicer with the default settings and for the most part, things print very well. Sometimes when using "supports on the build plate only", everything prints fine but the supports are crazy hard to get off the print. Other times they just pop off nice and clean. I do try to peel them off rather than ripping them out with a pair of needle nose plyers.
Is there a setting or method to help the supports to always pop off clean?
Thanks for the help.
Tejay

Here's a set of settings that have worked well for me:
Style: Snug
0.25mm z distance
3mm pattern spacing
4 interface layers
75% xy distance
0.2mm interface layer spacing
0mm first layer expansion

These 4 changes work well for me.
Top contact Z distance ".25" and Top interface layers"4" have to be typed in (they are not in the drop down menu).
Hope this helps.
Eric.
