Prusament Viva La Bronze printing issues

Hello,

I’ve been having some trouble printing with the Prusament PLA blend Viva La Bronze. Featured here are pictures of a partial print I stopped because it had a very rough texture to it and a temperature tower that also features the same rough texture. This is the only filament I’ve had this rough texture problem with, and I love the color and consistency so it makes me sad that my results are so bad with it. So far I’ve tried different temperatures with the temp tower because I thought I may be printing it too hot, but that didn’t change anything. I also thought it might be too much of an overhang, but other parts of the same object that have the same anmount overhang were unaffected. My next idea was to print in higher resolution (from 0.15mm to 0.1mm layer height) and I have yet to try that. Printing conditions with this filament were the default Prusament PLA profile in PrusaSlicer, temperature at 215/60C. I’m using a MK3S+ with the satin powder coated sheet. No adhesion issues, just the print texture coming out poorly. My nozzle is overdue for replacement, but I’m unable to replace it right now. Other than that, does anyone have any ideas or suggestions on how to fix this? Thanks in advance!

I’ve had very good luck with the Prusament Viva la Bronze. If memory serves, I print this at around 230c as it tends to behave like silk PLA variants. Try bumping your filament temp and maybe slow down the first layer by 10-15% from normal.

Here’s a photo of some holiday trees I printed in Viva la Bronze and a non Prusa brand red silk PLA.

Good luck.

Cheers

Btw, if your nozzle is ready for replacement, you may not get good results until that’s done.

Cheers

I have exactly the sampe problems and also only with this filament, while all others print fine. The slightest overhangs look ugly and have a rough surface, not as bad as in the photos from the OT, but ugly. No matter how slow or hot / cold I print, it's still the same.
