Prusa's Poll
I just filled out Prusa's poll, and it does a good job of making me think - What WOULD I want it to do?
There was one section where it asked if I had trouble during initial setup of my kit. I did. That single strip it does for calibration is nowhere near as good as JeffJordan's printing a 0.200 thick sheet of plastic. When building my 'not first' printers since, I've done the calibration print, then print a square that's a single layer thick and observe/adjust the LiveZ as it prints. Much faster, no guesswork. I wish we had that option.
Further, I wish that the firmware could remember different Z adjust heights for different materials. As much as I like JeffJordan's GCode for PLA, I've found I've had to make my own for all the different materials I print with, and have a table of 'first pass heights' for any time I change material. If only there was some way of automatically storing a good value for height adjust for a specific material.
Anyway, these are thoughts I had assumed I'd have a chance to voice on the poll. The question was asked, but an opportunity to add detail wasn't there.
Re: Prusa's Poll
With thousands of surveys, written data isn't all that useful because it requires reading.
Multiple choice takes a large data set and gives easily digestible insights.
Re: Prusa's Poll
Have you checked if you've received the $20 voucher mentioned in the poll email? I've filled out a poll using the email corresponding to my Prusa shop account and no voucher has appeared in my account. I'm wondering if others have had that issue.

Maybe we should give the guys a couple of weeks to sort this out. The Poll was sent yesterday.

On a friday night nonetheless, the absolute earliest I would expect something to happen would be start of .cz business next monday.
Re: Prusa's Poll
Did you guys get any sort of email confirmation of completing the poll at all? I didn’t, and I can’t help worrying I mistyped my email or something, even though I know it’s probably as you say, just a matter of giving them time to deal with results etc.
Also the email announcing the poll says “the community will benefit as well”, does this mean that Prusa will release (at least some of) the data gathered from the poll, or just benefit through Prusa better aligning with the community’s needs? I hope the data is released, I think it’d be really interesting to see how people are using their printers.
Re: Prusa's Poll
I wonder if they have matched this voucher as a means to get people to buy their new filament, to try it out. Just a thought.

I haven't received any sort of confirmation. I used auto-fill for the email and double checked if it's right. It will probably take some time for them to process the incoming results.
Re: Prusa's Poll
All's I'm waiting for is the confirmation that I won one of the printers! 😀
But I'll settle for a voucher, if I have to.
Re: Prusa's Poll
I have serious issues with this survey - I'm still waiting for my kit, and I have another printer. The 2nd page of the survey is asking me questions about the kit that I obviously can't answer since I don't have it yet...
Re: Prusa's Poll
I think you guys misunderstand - not EVERYONE is getting a $20 voucher! It is just one of the things you MIGHT win in a drawing among all the others who respond, other prizes include filament or even a printer.
Well, apart from this in the email:
Everyone who submits a complete survey, and has an account in our e-shop, will receive a 20 USD / EUR voucher to purchase any goods from our store.

I don't think it's explicitly stated, but keep an eye out for red asterisks--those are the only fields that are actually required. I don't remember what the page about the Prusa kit/printers had, specifically, but most of the questions about the multi-material upgrade were optional (I pre-ordered the MMUv2 but never used the MMUv1).
Unfortunately, Google Forms doesn't seem to give you any option to uncheck those boxes, so if you accidentally click on one of the optional choices that don't apply to you your only recourse seem to be restarting the survey or fiddling with your browser's developer tools.
Re: Prusa's Poll
Poll is quite a bit Multi Material and SLA heavy.
@josefprusa
Got a SLA machine planned guys? 😉
Re: Prusa's Poll
Personally, for me the big missing thing is build volume... I'm going from a Cobblebot that can do 14" x 14" x 14" down to the Mk3's size. It's gonna HURT going down to that size as there's some things I print that often are pretty large. I don't use the Cobblebot much anymore though as it has crappy print quality unless I do .1mm layers and really slow it down, and that makes doing big stuff super painful (plus it doesn't have a heated bed and isn't in an enclosure so I struggle with bigger prints).
But yeah, I'd LOVE to see a Prusa with a significantly bigger print volume. I AM looking forward to the MMU though! Really hope that works as well as indicated (and with less waste than the older MMU).

It seems so, as they bought a SLA company Futur3d recently 😎
Re: Prusa's Poll
I do expect a PruSLA MK1 machine soon 😀
No bigger volume printer for me. It's bulkier, heavier, eats more plastic, failed print hurts more. If I need a bigger part (which happens rarely), I either design it stack-able or print it in parts.

Re: Prusa's Poll
A bit more z would be an easy option to offer. There's a mod on thingiverse that takes the mk3 to 330mm z height with the stock motors and screws through some clever rearrangement of parts and a taller center frame.
A taller main plate and a few modifications to the printed parts and it could be offered that way from the factory at very little extra cost.
Re: Prusa's Poll
❓ Am I only the one who is missing the Prusa Mendel in Jo's Pool? 😀
Re: Prusa's Poll
I can't believe there is not a bigger uproar over the $20 voucher issue. It was 100% indicated if you did the poll you got a voucher in their store. I learned my lesson for the future request of information from it's community.

LOL, are you serious? What makes you think you won't get one?
"The survey ends on May 24th, 2018 at midnight (CET). Vouchers and printers will be send during the last week of May, filaments in the second half of June."
Patience, thy name is certainly not stephen.c14 lol.
