PRUSA PRINTER WITH 2 FILAMENT HEAD?

I would like to purchase a PRUSA that would like to be able to print with two different types of filaments.

MATERIAL AND DISSOLVABLE SUPPORT MATERIAL

Does PRUSA have part to do this?

RE: PRUSA PRINTER WITH 2 FILAMENT HEAD?

Just to clarify, I assume what you mean is to use two filaments in one model.  The simple answer is no, all current Prusa models are single extruder models.

Now there's ways around it but none have rocked my world. The Prusa solution to your situation is the Multi-Material Unit (MMU2S) for use with the Mk3S+, that allows you to use up to 5  filaments with your single extruder printer. Certainly there are people who were able to get it to work but from my own experience and tons of people expressing similar experiences it's a far from trivial process, and nowhere near the out-of-box experience of the actual Mk3S itself.  At one point I gave up and removed the MMU but obviously your mileage may vary.

Another option is the Mosaic Palette. Different approach but same net result. My attempts to make it work reliably have not been super successful so far. It splices different filaments together, and in my hands it's been very sensitive to tuning the splice sites. At this point I wouldn't even dream of using water soluble filaments with it. It can be used with a Mk3S+ or a Mini+.

And the most promising but also most expensive and—at this point—most long-term solution is the Prusa XL. It may ship this year but given the world-wide chip and component shortage I'd be stunned if that happened. Plus, if you haven't already pre-ordered it, I'm sure it won't be until next year in the best case to receive a copy. The XL will have up to 5 extruders and fully support multi-color and multi-material prints. Again, this machine is NOT yet available and nobody knows how it will perform in the real world.

Thank you for the detailed response.

Mosaic Palette:

Looks as though a filament head and cutting away support material will be the way to go.

Thanks again!

Of course you could always use manual filament change. Theres an interesting post https://forum.prusa3d.com/forum/original-prusa-i3-mk3s-mk3-user-mods-octoprint-enclosures-nozzles/simple-way-to-print-in-real-multi-color-without-mmu-or-layer-height-based-changes/

Thank you!   From what I have researched dual extruders are expensive.

I found some models online but Prusa has a good reputation for 3d printers under $1000.

Sovol have a two colour printer imagine a Y with two filaments feeding single hot end and a IDEX type with two extruders in the x carriage. No comparison to Prusa for support, spares etc. but cheapish.
