Sounds impressive, but the auto leveling uses Mk3 type technology.  It should work, but I will wait for the xl.

Maybe not the right place, but any thoughts on the Proforge 4?

any thoughts on the Proforge 4?

Managed from the UK, but "we will be manufacturing in China" plus "Orders will be shipping from China" let my interest drop to zero.

The drop shipping strategy reaches the 3D printer market.

Good news for all Bambu owners:

Bambulab realized that carbon rods and bearings may wear and you can sometimes buy now a complete carbonrods assembly:

https://eu.store.bambulab.com/collections/printer-parts/products/x-axis-carbon-rods-assembly

Fun (? 😕 ) for everybody who bought a assembled printer for not having to fiddle around with assembling it, but now having to replace this unit.

That could be a nightmare.

With the Prusa blinkers on it will always be impossible for Bambu to do anything right.

A possible issue for some users is discovered, solution is presented and it's just not good enough 😕

That was not what I was saying.  Many Bambu purchases are not used to having be mechanically inclined.  The Prusa kits have required me to learn that skill and I am very thankful for the skill and confidence I have acquired.

I own an X1, PIP and C1C and have not had an issue with the Rods.  Then again they are only 2-4 months old.

If Prusa produced a printer that matched the speed and print quality of the X1C with WiFi, Touch Screen, Camera and all the other nice bits of the X1C and it was €500 more expensive than the X1C I'd buy one or more of them on the spot but what they are offering at the moment is many years behind where it needs to be. I hope this changes but its not going to if everyone just accepts iteration instead of innovation.

China is no longer a friendly country towards Europe, Japan or the US.

They prefer to stand on the side of Russia and do not crticise Russia's war.

Primarily for this reason i started to avoid chinese products, if possible ...

As little money as possible for China's economy. The only thing China is afraid of is economic downturn.

I am still super happy that i choosed a MK3S 3 years ago when i started 3D-printing.

Has printed thousands of hours with better than 95% success rate.

I can understand if people buy a cheap chinese printer, if they cannot afford a Prusa printer.

However i would never spend 1500 € for a non-open-source chinese printer, dependent on a chinese Cloud service.

Bambus are good, but they are not that great.  You up the speed, and the print quality suffers.

Those are my thoughts exactly.  I own 3 Bambus, but they will never be my primary printers.

With the X1C on default settings and with 0.16 layer height it is 3 or 4 times faster than the MK3. All of this without having to tune or tinker with it.

I agree with supporting non Chinese companies but if we keep churning out outdated products in Europe then they will pass us out and we'll never catch up. We can stick out heads in the sand and say I hate Chinese products but that will just ensure we don't see them coming. The only way to win is to be better. Telling any company that you will buy there stuff no matter what will not push them to be better it will allow them to be overtaken, stagnate and eventually disappear. History repeats itself, just look at the British car industry, Nokia, Blackberry,.....

In a capitalist market place the best product for the cheapest price wins.  Though I strongly feel we have a moral obligation not to support companies or countries that don’t respect the human rights of their workforce or their citizens.
That however is an individual choice on the part of the consumer.

There always is a time lag between technology innovation and product release. The more financial resources you have the more you can shorten this lag time.  Getting these financial resources means giving up more ownership to outside investors. And therein may lie the problem for Prusa.  Obviously just speculation on my part.

"Best" is a difficult quality to define and often cheap is in opposition of quality and "best".

I concur, but the print quality is not great.  At 3-4 x speed, I have noticed decreased print strength.

At standard speed (3-4x faster than MK3) using PETG I have found no difference in the strength of the items printed but do find the print quality is consistently better from the X1C.

RE:

I have noticed significant print strength decrease with PETG with CF and Polycarbonate.  I do not have a pro set up to test it, but I have broken parts by dropping them or with my hands, and that did not happen with my Mk3.

I cannot sell those parts.  My conscience will not allow me to do it.

A good video on how to fix the extrusion and strength issues with a Bambu at higher speeds:
