Re: Powder-coated sheets vouchers?
nope. i ordered in sept. 17.... no voucher no sheet...
an if they sell prety much every sheet they get with new printers... it will take for ever.
i mean if they only take 100 sheets a month for old orders - we are talking about 10 Years.
They should stop selling it with new printers now. even then it will take over a year to send it to the old orders.
i am pis***ed if i had an alternative for prusa - i would never buy there anything again.
they don't give a f** for customers. only for money.

I thought you were exaggerating there for a minute but I went back to check their statement and they claim to have 17,000 customers waiting for their sheet.. So even if they could shift 1000 every months, thats still 1.5 years.
I don't know why they don't remove the PC sheet from sale until they get this resolved.. Why not reduce the price of the printer a little and only offer it with the PEI sheet... Then use their entire stock of PC sheets to address the backlog. If they can shift 2000 per months, in 9 months they will have this resolved. Once everyone who is "entitled" to them has them, open the sales again to Printers with the PC sheet and let those people who bought in the last 9 months buy them using the money they saved when buying the printer..
As you say, unless there is a step change to their model, most people arn't going to get their PC sheet any time soon.

Alternatives:
There are plenty.
Even if you want to stay away from cheap Chinese clones, there are plenty of Prusa alternatives if you're interested in your next printer. I've been thinking of making a Hypercube Evolution (HEVO for short). Core XY platform allows for taller prints than the Cartesian Prusa printer and the size can be customized in every direction. There are tons of extruder options and plenty of accessories for it. If you want a more professional/pre-built option, I like the Raise3D printer. Has a lot of the features we've been asking for years now. Color touchscreen, Wifi, taller build platform, dual extruders... Its an expensive machine, no doubt, but not a bad bang for buck machine, especially if you find one used at a good price.
You can also make any bed magnetic with a flexible build plate and you don't need special flex steel. Its nice know you wont crease flex steel, but you can buy a thin steel sheet from the hardware store for under $10, cut to size and slap on a pei/buildtak sheet and have good results. You just need to get magnets with a high operating temperature and some strong adhesive to attach them under the bed.

This is exactly what they should be doing, and since they are not its exactly why im never buying another prusa product. Prusa obvioulsy doesnt care about us early adopters, which is fine, now that they have shown their true colors we can make the decision not to care or buy from them again either.
Re: Powder-coated sheets vouchers?
I went ahead and spent my survey voucher just now. As I understand from reading the autumn update, the textured sheets will ship separately anyway and I wanted to order some other items so no need to wait for the powder coated sheet voucher.
Of course, if Prusa wants to slide in the textured sheet when they ship the box and save themselves the work later, I would not complain! lol

I am still hopeful I can use my voucher.. I am one of the early buyers (although on paper not as early as most, as they took a while to process an "upgrade from a Mk2S to Mk3".
I have nothing else I want to buy, as long as I get my voucher by the end of the year and am able to use my survey coupon, I should be able to get my PC sheet for free.. But I have a feeling its not going to work out and will end up spending my coupon on something i dont' want/need.
Re: Powder-coated sheets vouchers?
"Official email" just received 3 mins ago
Hi,
first of all, I would like to apologize for the huge delay with the delivery of the promised powder-coated spring steel sheets vouchers.
Powder-coated sheets manufacturing is a never-ending story, they are incredibly hard to make in quantity. The scrap ratio is so big that sometimes I would love to just outright cancel them and move on, but on the other hand, the ones we make are pretty good and it would be a shame to throw away all of our experience. Our supplier is able to supply us only with several thousand good quality sheets per month, however, we also bundle these sheets with new MK3 printers that we sell – and that’s also several thousand units per month.
I understand that this is not a fair situation and customers who have been waiting for the sheets for many months should be prioritized. This is why we will finally start sending vouchers to those customers, who are waiting for the longest time - and you are one of them. We have also decided to stop selling new printers with powdered-coated sheets until we will be able to fulfill the promise we gave to you.
When we announced sending vouchers in our recent article at prusaprinters.org, we received a bunch of responses from waiting customers and many of them told us, that they are actually satisfied with their smooth PEI sheets and didn't want powder-coated ones anymore. So we have decided to offer you three options. Below you can choose between various vouchers. Just click on one of the answers and we will send you your voucher early next week - most probably already during Monday, 5th November.
Please, choose your voucher as soon as possible, but at the latest on 11th November 2018.
Which type of voucher would you like to receive?
Option 1:
$10 discount for powder-coated PEI sheet with free shipping:
I want this voucher - option 1
Option 2:
Free Smooth PEI sheet with free shipping - totally free!
I want this voucher - option 2
Option 3:
$30 discount voucher for any item you can find on our e-shop:
I want this voucher - option 3
Keep in mind, that if you choose one of the sheets options, once you receive the voucher and complete an order, it may take a couple of weeks for you to receive your package. The reason is that we want to process these orders by the country of destination. Also, it won’t be possible to add anything to the order as it will be mass mailed.
I’m sorry we’re doing this a bit late, but almost every month for the last half a year we’ve expected we would finally have enough sheets for everyone and this lead time even for sheets won’t be necessary.
We will update our shipping table soon, so you can see the current processing/shipping times for powder-coated sheets.
Happy Printing!
Jo Prusa

Hey Joan 😊. Much respect.
Do u like the textured coating, durability or another reason for going with powder coated?
(Gonna ammend my question above to "guys and gals")
I wish there was a smooth textured spring steel choice. Don't really care for the textured finish but love the idea of pei coated spring steel, hope it last longer. And since it bends to remove prints, shouldn't have to even use tools much to remove prints.

Re: Powder-coated sheets vouchers?
I've been critical of Prusa in some of my post, but they are a class act:
Also, we will stop selling new printers with powder-coated sheets until this situation is resolved
They are taking care of they're customers who have been waiting for powder coated sheets, won't sell printers with powder coated sheets until previous customers taken care off.... Even though I'm critical I still day one order new products because of actions like above... Now Im more hopefully for resin printer, even if growing pains.

I have 3 double sticker build plates, so I thought I would get a discounted, textured buildplate, so that I could choose what fits best with my models

Re: Powder-coated sheets vouchers?
I chose powder coated sheet. I've been moaning about them long enough I would not dare choose one of the alternatives!
Seriously, I have been very critical of the way the PC sheet situation has been handled. Josef has listened to us early adopters, has apologised and explained, and he has honoured his original promise. He has gone even further than that by making attractive alternative offers, and has stopped shipping them with new printers until the backlog has been addressed. This last thing was something that upset a lot of the original purchasers including me and it says a great deal that we have been listened to.
Thank you Josef, you have surprised me and have proved that you actually are the man I thought you were.

It is truly great the decided to do this.
However this is offset by the fact that it took them literally a full year to do this when this should have been the way it was handled from the start.
Re: Powder-coated sheets vouchers?
I will believe it when and if I get my voucher they said they have no email of me sending in my survey they sent me the survey which I filled in and sent back ah well
Re: Powder-coated sheets vouchers?
I got my email survey today also, and opted for the powder coated sheet. I have 2 sticker sheets, and the textured surface is pretty cool!
I am glad they decided to suspend the powder coated sheets on new orders, and give early adopters first priority, it was the right thing to do. I am also sympathetic that the process took longer than they could have ever imagined. My MK2S order was swapped to an MK3 the day after the announcement, and arrived 11 months ago. It has brought me nothing but joy!
For anyone worried about their survey voucher expiring, I questioned support about this on chat, and they extended mine till the end of 2019.
Re: Powder-coated sheets vouchers?
Got the option email today and of cause selected power coated sheet (option 1) 😀
Been waiting for over a year for the option to get one of those PC sheets... printing mostly in PETG, I hope to avoid using windows cleaner all the time...
Thank you Prusa!
Have a look at my models on Printables.com 😉
Re: Powder-coated sheets vouchers?
Seems like most of those that waited this long want the actual powder coated sheet. I also choose the powder coated sheet.

Re: Powder-coated sheets vouchers?
still no voucher here (orderd sep. 17). I am not hoping for it the next year.
but i am done with prusa.
my MMU is on shipped for 3 days now.
I asked a week ago if i could add Prusament to the order. Answer was no - you have to make an extra order.
so both said shipped the same day.
but the UPS tracking for the MMU was wrong.
so i asked today. (because UPS normaly takes one day (max 2). and i thought it must be here today.
...they put the MMU and the prusament in one box an shipped it with extra slow DHL - expected mid next week.
Perfect. so you can save shipping cost as a company. let the customer pay twice, and then choose extra slow to say f*** you once again.
