Possible new extruder for Revo Micro on Mk3s?

Apologies if this topic already exists, I did a search and didn't find any.

Obviously, when the E3D Revo series comes out the Revo 6 should fit our Mk2s-Mk3s+ printers as-is with practically any of the Prusa extruders since Mk2s and it sounds like a great upgrade.

But what about the Revo Micro?  With the Micro's smaller size and weight, the possibility of a substantially different extruder is opened up.

It could be lighter and have a bit more Z  axis room, or perhaps some new features could be added like maybe a contact-sensing bed leveler or...?

I have been in contact with E3D and the revo 6 is a drop in replacement.  The micro would need the entire extruder support body redrawn and re-printed. You possibly only would save a few grams which would not make that big of a difference. I'm on board with the new Revo and will be placing a pre-order in the near future.

The Revo Micro looks to be several mm shorter than the Six, and a handful of grams lighter.  I doubt theses advantages will matter at all unless you're building up some seriously crazy movement speeds, which the i3 isn't designed for.

I'll also be ordering, but will wait for general availability, as there seems to be practically zero benefits to pre-ordering. I wish E3D could magically speed up production and delivery though 🙂

I’m much more excited about the possibilities of using the Nextruder across the entire Prusa line.  It would immediately fix the biggest single complaint voiced by Mini users (jams) and it’s promise of better first level bed adhesion would be welcomed by many many i3 users. Probably won’t happen until we see an i4, but hey, it’s not like they have Apple-level resources you know?
