Petg printing with .6 nozzle blobs forming on print
Hi
I am getting blobs forming on my prints often leading to head crashed
I am using white prussa PETG the blobs are white with some turning brown
I have just changed my nozzle from .4 to a new prussa .6 nozzle
I have only been printing in PETG with the new nozzle
I have tried changing as per posts in this forum
Retract Length =0.4
Lift = 0
Retract speed = 35
Reducing ectrusion multiplier
Changing to a new role of filement strait out of a sealed bag
No luck
Please help

If you have blobs while printing that are turning brown then its highly likely that your nozzle is leaking through the threads (brown=burnt plastic). As you have just changed your nozzle that means its also likely that you didn't do it correctly and its not sealed against the heatbreak - note heatBREAK not HeatBLOCK. With a light check the top and bottom of the block for plastic. If there is any then its probably leaking.
There are many threads and youtube videos on how to correctly change a nozzle.

Is the new nozzle by any chance brass?.
I found that PETG tends to like sticking to brass which could cause blobs, have a look when cold and see if there is much residue build up.
Also, how much stringing have you got during printing?, again, brass and stringing with PETG = blobs in my experience.
Nickel plated copper is better for PETG use.

Thank you neophyl - it worked
I heated the nozzle to 288 and tighten the nozzle gently as far as it would go
and I got a near perfect print with one minor dark mark .

I read your advise in previous posts and have placed an order for a nickel based nozzle
I hope you guys are all ok
