PEI Smooth Surface Prep for PETG?
Does anyone have experience with Overture brand PETG filament on their MK3S printer? What did you use to coat your PEI sheet before you printed? (Note, I have the smooth PEI sheet)
I am about to make my first prints using Overture brand PETG. I read somewhere Overture is the company that makes (or made) Amazon brand filament. A good friend with much MK3S experience told me to apply the Kores glue stick (which came with my printer kit) to my PEI sheet before printing. I applied the glue and did a live Z adjustment with the red PETG filament and it went fine; the PETG came off the PEI sheet OK. However, the glue stick has a somewhat uneven surface and I don't like the finish it produces on the parts. I'm tempted to try Windex but I'm afraid the PETG might adhere too well. I'd like to use something that will let my parts have a nice smooth finish like I get using PLA. I'm hoping to get some input from someone who has used Overture PETG filament.

Not used that brand specifically. I spritz the bed with Windex, wipe the liquid around with a small piece of paper towel, then let the liquid air dry. This keeps adhesion to a tolerable level.
That said, with Amazon branded PETG I had to go back to a perfectly clean bed since their PETG adheres more like PLA than PETG from other vendors.

tim-m30 thanks for the input.

I treat Overture same as I did Amazon's PETG

I tried Windex and it has worked well with the Overture PETG filament. Once I got the first layer adjusted it seems to be doing OK on the items I've printed so far with PETG. They come off the PEI coated steel sheet jsut like PLA. Thanks for your inputs folks!
