Orientation of motor cables in Step 4 Z-axis assembly

Hi, in Step 4, should I orientate the motor cables like the 2nd photo (i.e. away from each side of the printer) or orientation them towards the vertical frames like the one mentioned in the description?

Best Answer by --:

Skip forward in the manual to the bit where you dress cabling under the frame. It may help you from time to time.

Mine go toward the frame ... but ensure your mounts have clearance for the wires, don't crimp or crush them.

Thanks. So the picture is wrong as another user mentioned?

What does "Adjust (rotate) the motor." means?

Where is the "small cutout in the frame on the lower edge for each cable"? Any photo?

You need to be using the web site for the build so you can zoom into the images ... the cutout is that trapezoid shape with two holes above it (used for cable ties later in the build). Wires route in the cutout.

Adjust/rotate just means make sure the cables exit towards the frame.

Pay attention to the fact you must always manually thread the T-nuts on to the lead screws. NEVER use motor torque to do the threading or you WILL damage them. They are unobtainium and hard to find replacements (like, impossible).  So ALWAYS remove the T-nuts from the lead screws by hand - ALWAYS thread the T-Nuts onto the lead screws by hand.  NEVER attempt threading them on when they are attached to the X-Axis housing. They must be loose so you can feel the proper position and pressure applied as you thread them on to the screws.

Thanks. So when all of you talk about frame, it is the YZ vertical frame rather than the horizontal frame where the Y-carriage is being mounted. Once I have installed both Z-axis motors, I should not see the cables when looking at the printer from the front because the connector that connects the cable to each motor is facing the back (between the motor and the YZ vertical frame). Am I correct?
