New i3MK3S+ Build Complete
Got my kit a week or so ago and just finished the build today. Everything is working as it should be and right out of the gate I think it's a hair better than my i3Mk2S which I love and have dialed in real nice.
The only issue I had with the build was that the kit was missing the bearing retainers which really, really made me mad. You drop that kind of money and wait and then get an incomplete kit is pretty unacceptable.
To the credit of Prusa they sent me the parts DHL express and I literally got them in a couple days which I appreciated. From a standpoint of what happened I really feel like they should have ponied up something even if it were a coupon code or something for my inconvenience.
Anyway, moving past the missing parts I must say that Prusa kits and instructions are more refined from when I bought my Mk2 and then upgraded it to an S, especially the extruder assembly. Only a few times did I have to go to the computer to zoom in on pics to get a grip on the current step. The manual was great.
First calibration failed but after I ran the Z axis to the top and adjusted the Pinda probe it passed cal. Just got done printing Boaty which came out nice.
Great kit, lots of fun and a high quality printer that works great by my estimation. I'll probably mess with the Pinda and Live Z a little more but for the most part I'm in a good place.
