RE: Molten Hot End Heater
I'm thinking about using a copper heater block vs. the (presumably) aluminum original. Melting point >1000C vs 660C for aluminum. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08NPKF2GC/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_HMRB9R9HDR9NT6GZ680W?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Any thoughts?
RE: Molten Hot End Heater
Before I switched every printer over to a Dragon hotend, I used nickel plated copper blocks. They worked fine. Not that I noticed any appreciable difference, for better or worse.

RE: Molten Hot End Heater
I’ve considered installing a nickel plated copper heat block for a variety of reasons but my stock unit works so no urgent need to change right now. And, with the introduction of the E3D Revo Six, this becomes a far less likely proposition for me.
Given your unique situation, I would ‘assume’ you’ll be receiving a new stock heater block, at the very least, under warranty.
I would strive for a solid stock printer working as designed before considering any mods. But that’s just me.

Yes, they're sending all the parts to rebuild a brand new extruder assembly along with a replacement Einsy board.
I think that's very rational advice. Thanks.

Greetings @wreinhold :
If you get a chance, would you mind sharing an update on your rebuild and current printer status? I sincerely hope everything is working as expected at this point.
If you posted this info elsewhere in the forums, please post a link and forgive my missing that.
Cheers
RE: Molten Hot End Heater
The rebuild went fine and the printer is back up and running with no issues (and no mods). Prusa let me know the "Automatic ADC pull-up reset" feature in the 3.11.1-RC1 firmware release is a result of the analysis of the parts I returned.
RE: Molten Hot End Heater
That’s great news! Good to know Prusa took your event seriously and followed up with you.
Cheers

I'm still having trouble with that tiny heater cartridge being able to generate enough heat to melt that lump of metal.

Lol, sorry, laughing at your comment:
“I'm still having trouble with that tiny heater cartridge being able to generate enough heat to melt that lump of metal.”
Then hiding my eyes at the thought of that actually happening!
