It sounds like they are sending us vouchers for us to place orders, unfortunate they can't just send it out to all mmu2 owners automatically. This would get rid of some of the delay to hopefully get us a more reliable product. I was looking at the printed parts for the mk3s and it looks like the mmu2s is also using the same new filament sensor. I just ordered another roll of the PETG I used to reprint my all my printers parts and mmu parts in prep for all the new parts I will need to print.
My only fear is the mk3s upgrade will go on sale tomorrow, it will sell out immediately and all of us waiting for vouchers will be waiting 3 months while they try to work through the orders.

I don't think that would be practical, since we have the option of 3D printing our own parts or spending a little extra and having Prusa do it for us.

Really? The blog article says that the MMU itself is staying the same, and it already uses a filament agnostic sensor. The MMU2S upgrade will include all of the MK3S parts though.

i just looked at it closer.. yaa we get the same sensor allot of copy machines have... up side and down side. but i would say they are "trustable"

That's actually the test print blocks; the purge block is attached to the rear of the test print.

I will say, the article posted made my day.
I was glad that they addressed the two main issues that the MMU2 has in my opinion. These being the filament loading and the spool management. There was a lot of conflict on the forum of users arguing as to how robust the system is, and as an engineer, I like designs that have more tolerance for human error. I think these upgrades will help with that.
Also, I checked the GitHub, and they have STEP files, so kudos to Prusa for doing the conversion and saving me the trouble. I am curious as to how Prusa did that, or if they used my method of using FreeCAD to convert the SCAD to STEP. Either way, I will be posting SolidWorks Assemblies of both the MMU2S and MK3S as I am able (that includes a STEP file of the assembly as well)
I hope the MMU2S build manual and MK3 to MK3S build manual are posted soon, if they haven't been already!

AFAIK, it is for anyone who purchased the MMU2. If you have not yet received it, it is possible they will send the parts with the MMU2. For those who have already received their MMU2, they will get a voucher.

While many people boost how good some cheaper machines are, only Prusa can provide this kind of free customer support.
(well... not free if you consider the higher price, but overall I think it is worthy).

My MMU2 arrived 2 weeks ago. I was so patient, and now wish I was a little more patient. Will have to wait for MK3s extruder sensor parts when the voucher arrives and I order.

LOL. It is a double edge sword. You either got it already or your like me still waiting for almost 6 months. Either way you would be waiting.

That's my point. I waited 6 months. Ordered August last year, arrived February. Just arrived. If I'd waited any longer, it would've just come with the upgrade. Oh well. It'll come together eventually.
It'll be worth it for a more robust printing experience.

Their long term support and upgrade paths (over having to get a whole new machine) were big reasons I went with them.
Glad I didn't read about all the MMU and PC Sheet issues before I ordered 😯
At least I've had the Mk3 for a few months now and it's been working a treat 😎

OK im confused hear, I have a MK3 and I purchased a MMU2 which I received months ago but I have never built it, waiting for the dust to settle a bit,,, I do not want to print the parts myself I want to purchase the plastic bits,, can I do that OR do I have to purchase
