Placet my order on 30/01. Printer came today. It was the big box (assembled) Didn't need the gummybears 😆 .
Just made the wissle, now printing something for my kid, it's going pretty fast on the infilling.
Didn't have time to build the printer myself, also the faster delivery is nice bud I didnt knew that when ordering.
did they really send gummies? i saw it in an unboxing but i wasnt sure because i guess he is friends with Prusa.

I've ordered a MK3 and added to the spreadsheet.
Looking at the orders that have been shipped and when to get an idea how long I have to wait, I see the fully assembled versions are being shipped in advance of the kits.
Why do I have to wait longer for my kit version?
That doesn't make sense.

There are a whole lot less assembled models ordered then kit models. so i am thinking they just want to get these out of the way so they can work full force on the kits. just a thought

There are a whole lot less assembled models ordered then kit models. so i am thinking they just want to get these out of the way so they can work full force on the kits. just a thought
One thought I had on the difference is that a kit could accidentally be shipped with a missing part and the problem wouldn't arise until the recipient tried to build it, so the parts need to be checked & double checked, whereas you couldn't easily ship a built printer with a missing vital part because it wouldn't pass the testing stage of the order shipment.
The long wait I'm in for reminds me of my early days on eBay some 17 years ago when I'd get some things shipped from the US to UK by ground to save money as I wasn't in a hurry. I think I made quite a few sellers a bit nervous, but everything eventually arrived, usually within 8 weeks 🙂

It does. They likely have a dedicated team of people assembling the printers. The team needs to be supplied with a constant stream of parts to do their job otherwise they had to stop their work. Would be stupid for Prusa to send their staff in holidays due to a run-out of parts because these have been shipped out as kits. So the rate of assembled printers is limited by the number of a printers the team can assemble, where the rate of kits is limited by the number of parts they can print. If less assembled printers are ordered than they currently assemble, that pushback gets smaller. If more are ordered, the pushback gets bigger.
Seems recently less assembled printers are ordered so they catch up. But if this trend persists, they might reduce their assembling team. Then the push back of assembled printers might stay the same or even again fall back behind that of the kits.

Not just missing parts, but parts quality can also be flagged quicker if assembled printers are built, tested, and shipped slightly ahead of kits. I'd certainly rather wait an extra week over assembled for that piece of mind 😉

Did you get the kit or the fully built version? I ordered the kit and all the pieces "plus some spare hardware" is in the box with one rold of PLA.

Thanks David! I only preordered it but it is not arrived yet. What is your opinion should I order any filaments for the beginning or will it be enough for first days to test printer?

Just got an email stating that my printer is ready to ship but they noticed that the shipping cost has not been paid yet. They want me to send the shipping cost by paypal before they proceed.
I took a look at my invoice and the shipping was indeed included on it and the total amount at the bottom matched the amount taken out of my account.
Anyone else run into this?

Are you sure the email comes from Prusa? There has been an increase of phishing emails recently... I'd reach out to support, they'll be able to clear this up.

Hi,
I ordered a black kit without any other product on 13/01, the estimated shipment date was early March.
Each week they told me my order will be process probably next week.
Communication is limited to a web page, each update shifts shipping dates for a week.
An explanation should be missing black parts, but they know 3 months before how many black kits they have to produce !
And in the Ship Date Tracking Spreadsheet we find orders for black kits, ordered after mine and already ship !
Now I'm leaving on holidays in 10 days so I plan to cancel my order, I didn't imagine the initial 2 months becomes 3 or 4 months
I'm just wondering they refund faster than they ship orders but I fear the worst.
I am really disappointed by how they treat their customers.
