MK3 Heat Bed Thermal Runaway. (Burnt positive cable)

Hello ALL!

First time posting~

I had purchased and assembled my first MK3 about two month ago and have been printing well without any major issues.

However, during my last print I experience error Message (Heat bed thermal runaway).

After turning off the printer and back on, I noticed a burning smell, turn off the printer immediately.

Upon investigation I noticed it was the positive power cable (red) connecting the EISNY board being burnt. (See attached image)

Has anyone experienced the same problem? Is it still safe to print? What do you guys think?

Cheers,
Jerry Zhao

Looks like you didn't tighten the screw hard enough. The increased resistance causes the heat and burn.

I had it at the other end. The bed end.

Looks like the connector may not have been tightened down enough,

If you're particularly concerned about safety it's probably best to replace the heatbed cable. Contact prusa support using live chat and they will help you out.

That said, it doesn't look too bad, so you might be able to use some steel wool or so to clean the tarnish and melted plastic off the spade connector and continue using it. But if you do that I'd definitely keep an eye on it to make sure it's not going to get worse.
