Microscopic pictures of extruded acrylic filament moist and dry

Ever wondered what exactly is the difference when extruding dry and wet (moist) filament? I mean, how it looks like when extruding?

I did the test (of course not intentionally 😀 ) when printing acrylic on standard settings (0.4 mm nozzle, PET settings but 260c hotend, 100c heatbed). Here is the answer:

Extruded dry filament:

Extruded wet filament after a week exposed to the free air at normal summer room condistions in mid-europe:

I think PLA may (?) also look bubbly if you extrude it at too high a temperature, even if it's dry.

Thanks for posting your images. 🙂
